Boosh Birthday Headcanons
- Vince's birthday is, generally, a palaver and a half. From the moment the sun rises, that boy is in Birthday mode, which automatically means that everybody else must be too. Howard is happy to oblige him (but in the interests of preventing Vince getting too emperical, he'll always segue into the 'I'm sure something's on today. Something. It's in the air. Bin day???' routine just to tease).
- Vince ALWAYS makes Howard a present, even on his own birthday, just to stop him feeling too left out. Howard maintains that he's not actually six years old, and Vince can stop doing this, but it's never going to happen.
- Along the same vein, Howard always makes Vince his own baked good when it's his birthday. He is yet to repeat a celebratory pastry.
- Howard's birthday is a much smaller deal, as you'd expect, and they usually don't inform Naboo and Bollo until it's nearly over, given the amount of times their gifts have 'gone wrong' in the past. Instead, Vince and Howard have a 'Howard's Day Out', and spend the day in whatever dingy jazz club or library section Howard wishes (as long as they get to feed the ducks afterwards, as a compromise).
- When either of them hit a really important milestone, they kick it up a notch and write one another personalized versions of 'Happy Birthday' in varying genres. Howard is fundamentally the best at it, but Vince once took it a step higher and performed his Marilyn-Monroe-having-just-ejected-from-a-cake-why-hello-Mr-President style, a performance that is yet to be topped.
- On a 'birthday-eve' as they have dubbed it, the two of them sleep on the roof whenever possible (with a few precautionary measures - they do learn). I don't want to say that they recreate the Party kiss, but let's be honest with ourselves.
