I remember seeing a skull look on instagram (featuring @vickym0n) and filing it away in my head as an idea for #Wrenleyween. 🎃 Sure, it had dark sunken eyes, but what really caught my attention was the warmness of the colors surrounding the black! I really didn't care to work with the usual black and grey and I loved the rich brown and burnt orange. I was scrolling through Instagram over the next few days and I came across a picture by @makeupbyjaack featuring the very same skull look I had seen on Pinterest. I had to do it! 😍 Thankfully, Jack has a makeup tutorial on YouTube that is super helpful and his personality made me laugh too! He is crazy talented so check him out! 👌 ⚪ ⚪ We should all know by now that I prep my skin with MAC Studio Moisture Cream. ❤ I applied foundation to match my skin and then had to figure out which eyeshadows I should use. Jack used some beautiful ABH and a few Makeup Geek shadows that I did not have so I had to improvise. Kat Von D, Lorac, and MAC are always good enough substitutes, right? 💁 Some of those shadows were a little extreme or too bright so I had to tone them down and blend them out with others, but I think it all came together in the end! 💀 This look plays on the contours and actual bone structure of the face and was easy to create! I filled in my brows, but the sunken black eye area requires no liner or false lashes unless you so choose. The only thing you must be patient with is blending out each layer of pigment, but honestly, it's pretty fun. Having the correct blending brushes is also ideal and helps the process go quickly! To finish the look, I used a thin paintbrush and black DFX paint to fill in the nose area and to draw the lines around my lips. "I'm not crazy, my reality is just different than yours" 😼 #Wrenleyween #CheshireCat ⚪ ⚪ [More photos and full makeup details available @wren_thestylist! 🎨]

While looking for ideas for this year's #Wrenleyween, I was completely inspired by @barbell_barbie147 and her take on the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland! 😻 Be sure to check out her Instagram--the girl is talented! 👌 ⚪ ⚪ ⚪ As usual, I primed my face with MAC Studio Moisture Cream and started in on my eyebrows. To achieve brightness, I used my Nyx jumbo eye pencil in Milk to cover my natural brow color and then applied purple DFX paint to make them really pop. After priming my eyes, I created a pink and purple smokey eye using a variety of shadows from Makeup Geek and my old school Coastal Scents palette. I applied winged liner to the outer and inner corners of my eye, but unfortunately, I was running low on time (and daylight) and I was not able to purchase cat eye contacts--which would have made this look that much cooler, but you get the idea! Hazel eyes for the win. 👍 I used Graftobian foundation in my natural skin color and set it with Laura Mercier's translucent powder before contouring my face and neck with Mehron Paradise paint in purple. I blended the purple contour with pink DFX paint, and used a mix of pink and purple shadows to further melt the colors together. Fur lines were obviously necessary so I took a flat paint brush and created a darker purple color and lightly flicked horizontal lines of it around the contoured edges. The nose area is pretty self explanatory, but a piece of advice? Blow your nose before a makeup application of any kind. 👍 Using Kat Von D's tattoo liner in Trooper, I started to recreate the Cheshire Cat smile. This can take awhile, but be patient! I outlined the areas around the teeth and started to fill it in using black DFX paint. To finish, I filled in the teeth with white paint and used pink shadows to create the gum effect. 😸 ⚪ ⚪ ⚪ To complete this look, I didn't have a fun pink wig and I really wanted to create pointy cat ears, but I don't have enough hair--so the trendy double buns/double top knots are what you get. 😺 They're close enough and my copper hair kind of reminds me of an orange tabby cat anyway, so...💁 ⚪ ⚪ Remember ➡"Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality..."

"I myself am strange and unusual" ⚪⚪⚪ Wednesday Addams wears minimal to no makeup. She has pale skin, slightly sunken eyes, a light neutral coral lip, and a hilarious sarcastic soul. Most pictures and tutorials I saw or watched were recreated wearing black lips, and although I do love that look, I decided to stay with the original look of neutral lips! 💋 To start, I primed my face using MAC Studio Moisture Cream and applied the lightest shades of Graftobian cream foundation. I darkened my eyebrows using Anastasia's brow pencil in Graphite and used Kat Von D's Shade and Light eye palette to create a warm shadow in my crease and under my lower lashes. Because of the natural bags under my eyes (thanks, Grandma ❤), I didn't want to sink them in too much or use too much grey around my eyes! Wednesday wore no eyeliner, but I still created a very slight wing to make it a "sophisticated" version of the character. Using the same eye palette, I did use the grey shadow ("Lazarus") only to contour and hollow out my cheekbones. And the perfect lip color? Kat Von D's limited edition lipstain in #ProjectChimps! I applied it by smudging it onto my lips (creating a wash of color to slowly build it) and then brushed foundation lightly over it to make it a little imperfect. ⚪⚪⚪ I wanted to recreate a character look that is easy to achieve--especially if you have minimal time or need a simple idea!
