The metal Wraithguard that have been hanging out in my "pile of potential" since 1991 are finally finished. I had only painted five earlier, as they were really expensive to field in game terms, and these other three have just been waiting their turn for paint. The current rules allow for much bigger units, which pleases me since I can put everything on the table now. The paint scheme for the remainder is the same as the old but a little bit brighter. Yes, I still need to put their white decals on.
I also have a unit of the newer plastic Wraithblades in progress and I've noticed they are significantly larger than the old metal ones.
Wraithguard: The third and final piece of Kagrenac’s Tools allows you to hold Sunder and Keening without suffering a mortal wound.
With drewly day 3 in your possession, you can finally siphon the divine power from the heart of a fallen trickster god.

#3 - Wraithguard Again, 40 minutes from start to finish. Starting to gain a bit of a feeling for softness/hardness of the standard photoshop brushes, and a bit of a feeling for how pressure-sensitive transparency works. It's still very easy to blur and fuzz everything when working with a soft brush though. Phew. Digital, Adobe Photoshop and Wacom Intuos Pro M, 1000x1000px
Also! If you've got an Elder Scrolls item you'd like me to tackle like this, shoot me a message!
And as a little bonus - this is what it looked like after 10 minutes - when I got the sketch down and was trying to place the main light and shadows.
Wraithguard are just fucking hellish to paint and I have no idea why
like, there's just something about the design of the models that makes painting them extremely awkward
and building them isn't much better; getting the arms to line up is practically impossible
does anyone else have these problems?
