For me, I don’t even have to think hard:  my mom, a woman I loved with my entire being, continually encouraged me to “stick with it”...the “it” she was referring to was my 20+ year shitty af marriage.  Now I don’t blame her for my staying with that...that...misogynist (or maybe he just hated me) narcissist aka dumbass --she was raised in a time when once married always married; she was a devout Catholic and divorce was NOT an option.   End result:  I hope my kids NEVER come to me for advice.  My ideas could still fuck them up.  Such a concept.

The WORST advice I've EVER heard was, "If it's meant to happen, it will." You may not think it's that bad, or you've heard worse, but for me, this was just like...*JACKIE CHAN FACE.* I'm not naming names, but one of my friends said that today, and I didn't say anything, because if I did, it would've been bitchy. Things don't just happen. You create. That's the point of life, you are created, and you create your own life, you create your destiny, ideas, more life, etc. LIFE, doesn't just hand you things on a silver platter. Oh, no sir, it does not. You have to work for it. You have to work your sweaty ball sack for it all right. Whatever you want, you can't just wait for the universe to give it to you. Your ass would go right numb for waiting that long...and I can tell you how long you'd be waiting for that thing to happen...forever. Now, in one topic, I like to expand, so you may be thinking that when I say forever, you think I'm joking, because you probably think, what is forever anyways, nobody lives forever?! Well yes, that is true. But as Sarah Dessen lightly explained in her novel, Truth About Forever is that forever is so many different things. It's always changing. Forever is happening right now. So before I get completely off topic here, you can't just sit around and wait for the universe to create destiny for you. The universe is a great metaphor for forever, you wanna know why? Because just like forever, it's always changing, it's those small minutes that you don't bother to count, it's growing, and growing. Pretty much, if you just sit there like waiting for the universe to make amends for you, the universe, and forever, will go on without you. So remember when you tell someone "if it's meant to happen, it'll happen" because basically, you're just nicely saying "bro, sit on yo ass and wait for nothing."
