Daily MCO Drink #449, MCO Day #451: THE LAST TIMUN, made with half a cucumber muddled in 2 parts Hendrick’s Gin, 1 part Green Chartreuse, 1 part Giffard Maraschino Liqueur, 1 part lemon juice, shaken over ice and strained. After a few cucumber drinks and some salads, this literally IS my last timun LOL. Might have to get a few more for World Cucumber Day. Anyway, I figured The Last Word would be a suitable drink for a cucumber twist, since it’s green haha. Switched the lime for lemon so the sourness doesn’t overpower the cucumber, and also upped the gin count to bring out more cucumber flavours from the Hendrick’s. The result? Not bad, actually - the vegetal cucumber notes go quite well with the herbal notes of the Chartreuse. Daily MCO Drink #447, MCO Day #449: STRAWBERRY CUCUMBER GIMLET, made with 4 fresh strawberries, 4 slices cucumber, muddled in a shaker and add 2 parts Hendrick’s Gin, 1/2 part Giffard Menthe-Pastille, 1 part lime juice, 1/2 part simple syrup, shaken over ice and fine strained. Had leftover strawberries and A LOT of cucumbers, so made up mu own drink. Turned out quite nice TBH, the strawberries and cucumbers still manage to hold their own alongside the lime. Used Menthe-Pastille instead of fresh mint cos I wanted a more pronounced mintiness to counter the lime. Got a cool box of Hendrick’s Gin goodies for World Cucumber Day on June 14, and since it came with a bunch of cucumbers, figured I might as well make use of them LOL. Adapted this from a recipe on Spruce Eats. Quite a fun, refreshing drink that is cool as a cucumber and also full of herbal freshness thanks to the basil and mint.
