It is ridiculous that some corporate kiss-ass gets to make a decision on whether or not I am allowed to work without being in severe pain every damn day and I don't get to be a part of the conversation beyond the initial "please please please let me sit at the register so I don't collapse from burning pain and exhaustion. I don't have a diagnosis yet, but I promise I'm not exaggerating my suffering".

I'm not asking for the company to pay for something ludicrous. I am asking to use a chair THAT WE ALREADY HAVE IN THE BUILDING so that I am not constantly on my feet.

I have called and emailed multiple times, trying to figure out who I ACTUALLY need to speak to so that I can just use a damn chair at the register to ya know. PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE THAT'S HAPPENING EVERY DAMN SHIFT I HAVE.

Tomorrow is the last day they have to approve or deny my claim and there has been absolutely no communication whatsoever. I don't even know if anyone has so much as looked at my request.

It is difficult for me to stand, sit, or walk for longer than a few minutes at a time on my very bad days. This is what she documented.

Because of this, the accommodations team is unable to provide me accommodations and wants to put me on an extended leave of absence whilst coming to a determination that would likely result in separation of employment.

I now have to reach out to my doctor to get new paperwork with everything dumbed down so that they can just let me use the chair at the register and call it a day.

HR: We've sent a second escalated request to the business.

Me: Okay, who specifically was it sent to so that I can contact them directly?

HR: The business refers to your management team.

Me: Again, who specifically? My GM and direct supervisor have not received anything.

HR: 🦗🦗🦗(Doesn't answer my phone calls or emails)

I love working here.

I adore my coworkers.

I feel like I'm actually good at my job and people appreciate it.

I have customers who get excited when they see me at work and some who even continue to come back to my store instead of one closer to them, simply because I work there.

Yes it would be hard to find a new job cause the job market is in shambles.

Yes it would suck to have to start over.

But dear god the reason I'm still fighting is because I genuinely have so much love and passion for what I do every day at work.
