re: your herr drosselmeyer posting, i recently went to a local school’s production of the nutcracker ballet and they also had a young drosselmeyer who was like 40 at the oldest. at least his ‘eyepatch’ was actually half a pair of steampunk goggles painted black, so he could at least see out of it somewhat lol

anyway we need more old and disabled herr drosselmeyers <3

but gosh yeah the nutcracker is literally my favorite ballet and it’s by my favorite composer and I love watching the adaptations and the one I went to was a genuinely really high-end one (which im grateful to have seen) which is why im so disappointed drosselmeyer was so… blah

hes literally clara’s magical toymaking clockmaking whimsical godfather, and him being old just adds to the mystique and whimsy I think ..!! they didn’t even give him a cape or a hat he just had a vest

and like I suppose I understand why they don’t always do the eyepatch because ballet is harder when you have no depth perception but aaagh . At least they DID give him a pair of glasses though
