On my way to visit a dear friend and I can't wait to finally drop all my masking and be my chaotic ADHD self!
[Side note: Pretending to function somewhat neurotypical at work makes me want to puke... In recent weeks I got better at standing my ground about noise cancelling headphones and my boss finally seem to get that he has to respect that. I mean, I get more work done when I'm not overwhelmed so he should be thankful!?]
Back to said friend: She is autistic and we met online. Our connection was immediate and strong! When we finally met in person months later it translated beautifully into RL. I didn't know about my ADHD back then (even though there were SO MANY SIGNS) and I couldn't understand why we clicked so well...
Spoiler alert: Turns out neurodiversity was the common ground that made everything else so easy. Looking back that also explains some of the really deep and important connections with other neurodivergents throughout my life.
Long story short: I'm excited for out time together and it's gonna be great!
