That made me so sad. Maybe he does really feel that way and we're overstepping. A being that doesn't have control in a world it didn't ask to be built into. Used against his will over and over for so so many years.

The last time I was on my ship it was bare bones inside as far as decor goes.
The only one who spends time on my ship (at this point) is ND-5. Which means the droid has unpacked my clothes and given me pillows and a blanket and made the space more cozy. There's also little house plants all over the place. He's so thoughtful
