Last movie: My Precious, finally! I've completed the "You're the apple of my eye" trilogy. I have to say I think I liked the Thai more than the others, because the chaos made it really fun, but the original Taiwanese one made me cry way more (probably because the story was new to me when I watched it). I can't remember much of the Japanese version, tbh. But before this, I've rewatched Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. (links: letterboxd)

Currently watching: Uh, okay, I have a google doc for that now. I'm following Taskmaster, its podcast, and the BBC Ghosts podcast too. I started The Great, and I'm almost at the end of the first season, but I think that I'll watch that while doing crafts, since that's in English and I don't have to read any subtitles while watching it. And also I'm waiting for other stuff to air, and I put on hold a lot of other shows.

Shows I dropped this year/didn’t finish: I am very happy to drop series I don't vibe with, usually stylistic choices might bother me, or I'm triggered by something, or I don't care about the characters enough to continue watching. The Warp Effect has been praised a lot (and it did made me curious), but I just wasn't that comfortable watching it at times. A Boss and a Babe and Hidden Agenda, which I started because I had nothing else to watch, and they were just okay at the beginning, but I lost interest very easily with the passing of the episodes. I also watched the first episode of The Bear and I found it a bit too heavy for me at the time, so I might or might not revisit it in the future.

Currently reading: One day I'll link my Storygraph, but right now the books I'm actively reading are The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy and my newest babie, Ghosts: The Button House Archives.

Currently listening to: I haven't had any musical obsession this year, which makes me wonder what will be of my Spotify Wrapped, since my most listened playlist is the one I turn on when I drive, and I still had no time to add or delete songs from that one.

Currently working on: adding new stuff to the Stuff To Do List while doing none of it and sleeping my stress off.

Current obsession: Does Cherry Magic Thai count? I've curated a thread on twitter about it for almost a whole year, so I guess that might do. (To be fair, when I started it, I thought they'd be way faster in producing the thing, but they're still working on it!) (link: twitter)

HAHAHA, benissimo! Questo sito è divertente soprattutto quando si scopre che si parla la stessa lingua dopo aver parlato in inglese nei precedenti mille post!

Se vuoi consigli su commedie, chiedi pure a me! Ce ne sono molte che non ho ancora visto, ma mi piace sempre scoprirne di nuove.

(A proposito, se non hai ancora visto Fleabag, ti prego fallo. E - se ti è piaciuto quello - Phoebe Waller-Bridge è stata autrice di un’altra dramedy britannica che si chiama Crashing, di sei episodi, che mi ha lasciata un po’ così, ma l’ho amata.)

Io la quinta stagione di AOS l’ho guardata con l’ansia, quindi forse gli episodi di intermezzo della sesta sono stati una boccata di aria fresca per me.

Ti consiglio tantissimo The Good Place. Non c’è un personaggio che non mi piaccia, e vengono toccati molti temi filosofici / morali, ma nel frattempo fa anche ridere. Non cercare spoiler se decidi di guardarla, però! La prima stagione ha un bel plot twist....

Community è geniale. L’ho riguardato da poco e ci sono dettagli in ogni episodio che non avevo notato prima. Tutti i personaggi hanno le loro caratteristiche e le loro storie, non sono mai banali, e ogni episodio è diretto in un genere diverso.

Pensa, io ho scoperto Galavant perché l’attore che ha fatto King Richard era uno dei personaggi principali di Psych! Facevano Psych il pomeriggio della domenica (?) su Rete4 ANNI fa. L’ho scoperto perché mia mamma è fissata con i telefilm di detective, che di solito non mi andavano a genio. Questo, invece, mi ha dato da subito allegria! Shawn risolve casi facendo finta di essere un sensitivo e porta il suo migliore Gus a cercare prove con sé. Ogni tanto faccio un rewatch perché mi mette proprio di buon umore!

OK, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend!! All’inizio ero un po’ dubbiosa, in realtà, perché era prodotto dal network CW, che aveva prodotto diverse serie che mi avevano delusa. Però già dal primo episodio mi hanno conquistata le canzoni ironiche al punto giusto. Parla di Rebecca che lascia il suo lavoro di avvocato a New York per seguire (o no?) Josh, un fidanzatino del campeggio che non aveva visto da dieci anni, a West Covina (California), e iniziare una nuova vita lì. E magari anche riprendersi Josh. In realtà la storia ha molte sfaccettature più profonde e tratta diversi temi riguardanti la salute mentale, diagnosi psichiatriche, tutto trattato in modo molto serio, ma senza perdere l’umorismo che avvolge la serie. E l’episodio finale della serie è sicuramente nella mia Top 5 Dei Più Bei Finali personale.
