How likely is it that they'd react badly, and if they did, how likely is it you could cut them from your life without serious repercussions (financial, emotional)?
I mean, they know. And they've already reacted really really really badly. We stopped talking about it. For the past two years, we pretended it never happened simply because that was the only way we could deal with it. We don't bring it up, they don't ask if I'm seeing anybody, I don't ask if I can have a boyfriend with me for the holidays even though my sisters have their boyfriends. It's made me seriously depressed these last few years, even more so because I've had to move back in with them at one point.
But I'm completely independent now. I pay for all my own things, I don't rely on them for anything. Even when I had my kidney stone, I paid for that. I bought my own car. I pay all my bills and have my own phone plan as of this month.
I'm just still afraid to talk to them. I mean they're my fucking family. As much as I want to leave and as much as I feel disconnected from them already, being cut off from them is different.
I don't want to keep feeling alone.
