New knit pumpkins for autumn 2016 by Elizabeth Plaid
You might remember that I knit some pumpkins last year, using the "Pumpkin Spice" pattern by @dentonsinventions. I’ve stuffed the yarn inside my in-progress one, but the other one is deflated for now. (Ooops, my fiberfill stuffing is packed away.)
The orange yarn came from Downeast Fiber Farm, which I bought at the Machias Blueberry Festival a couple weeks ago. Really, this yarn was destined to become pumpkins.

The knit pumpkin, made from dentonsinventions’s pattern, has been photographed! As I said in my last reblog of the post, I skipped the tufting stitches to accommodate a pouch of plastic pellets (to give it weight).
I would say this pattern is worth buying. It’s a quick knit (just a few hours, including trouble-shooting my mistakes, stuffing it, and various breaks between episodes on Netflix), but you have to pay attention and count rows for the middle section; you can’t zone out on this pattern. I love that it fits in my hand and is sized to be a seat-cushion for my 1:4 scale doll, Magpie (a Deja Vu doll by Tonner).

dentonsinventions replied to your post: Crochet discussion time! When writing patterns, what kind of shorthand do you use to keep track? Personally, I find abbreviations too annoying, and just write numbers. Ive seen others use symbols. What about you or your followers? Im curious.
I use abbreviations for everything.
