"WOMEN'S EQUALITY"
by JahOne
In 2012 a group of Bulgarian artists committed themselves to making the streets of Sofia more colorful and joyful, and the L.O.V. (translating to English as "Love from the Inside") crew was born. Half a world away in Atascadero, Californiaâfounded just over a century ago as the utopian âCalifornia Colony of the Women's Republic" and the only place in the country where a woman could buy land without a manâthe Zappas family, as part of their @AtascaderoLaPlaza development plans, committed funding for two murals in celebration of Women's Equality Day and as homage to the city's history. Alongside the nearby Heather Millenaar mural site, L.O.V. artist Ioan Tzenkov, aka JahOne (a name inspired by Rastafari culture and their teachings of peace), created this intriguing work (would love to hear your interpretation) in late 2017 near the central corner of Traffic Way and El Camino Real.  @jah__one/ Â
