Okay, here it is, the long awaited bra post. So clearly I’m not a professional in any sense of health or style, I’m just someone who happens to have tits so... my word is not law.Â
SHOULD I CONSIDER GOING BRALESS?
Here’s how you find out. If you’ve ever thought “hey, I wish I didn’t have to wear these,” then you should. Easy as that. I’m not going to argue that everyone burn all their bras immediately, all I’m saying is whatever you find the most comfortable, feel okay doing that.
WHERE DO I START?
Well, I had wanted to do this for literally years now. Years. You really don’t have to wait that long. But what helped me get into a braless lifestyle was to start slow. At least for me, it took a good bit to feel comfortable and not gross or socially unacceptable, so it would just be here and there. With thick clothes, quick store runs, just to get used to it.
The next thing that helped a lot was finding clothes that you can’t really wear bras with. Wear them, look REAL good in them, feel confident and free, and suddenly it’ll be easier to wear anything else.Â
AREN’T YOU WORRIED ABOUT PEOPLE SEEING YOUR NIPPLE / SIDEBOOB / ECT?Â
Uh, no. But that’s a me thing, personally I think it’s very sexy and liberating to not be stuck in an article of clothing that forces a part of my body to look “perfect” or more acceptable. I DO have nipples, not sorry about that, so I’m not sorry if you can see them through my shirt. I do understand that may bother some people though, so you could always tape them / cover them if you wanted to.Â
SO IS THIS ONLY FOR PEOPLE WITH SMALLER BUSTS?Â
NO!!!! Honey I am a D/DD depending and let me tell you I had the same thought. That braless looks were only cute on smaller cup sizes. LET THOSE TITTIES OUT, BIG OR SMALL, EVEN OR NOT, PERKY, RELAXED, IT DON’T MATTER !!!!! Beauty is a social construct you know what’s not? Comfort. I’m still working on getting over “oh but they look better than me,” when it comes to braless looks, but if I can do it so can you, I promise.Â
PROS?Â
- Okay bras aren’t cheap so you saving money in the long run
- (tmi) MUCH less boob sweat in my opinion and trust me that’s so good
- No more fighting with underwire. I have a scar between my breasts from getting stabbed by one, so I’m glad they’re not in my life anymore.
- You feel SO confident. Like I can’t even explain it you just feel untouchable ig. There’s something very beautiful in taking your body back.Â
- Dude when you’re on your period it is a BLESSING trust me.Â
CONS?Â
- okay when its cold just uh... be prepared.Â
- EVERYONE doesn’t take it as well but most people won’t comment, just be prepared.Â
- Be careful about telling some men about it... it’s just weird and gross.Â
- If you have to run.... grab your boobs or prepare for pain.Â
- Certain clothes are made expecting for your breasts to be in a certain place, so sometimes that can be a bit of a struggle.Â
SO ARE YOU NEVER WEARING A BRA AGAIN?Â
I will wear bras. I do wear bras. But the difference is, I now wear them when I WANT to, not because I have to. Nothing wrong with slipping on a sexy bra before a date, or a bra just because you want some support that day, or if you’re doing something formal. Bras are fine, I don’t hate bras, I just firmly believe wearing them should be up to an individual. For me, being braless 95% of the time is ideal. But I don’t have any less respect for someone who wears them 24/7.Â
So all in all, if you want to go braless, just give it a shot. You can always go right back if you don’t like it. And OF COURSE, I’m here if you have any more questions or concerns. Â
