Marvin’s kitchen was also a cluttered mess. It wasn’t dirty, but there were paint splatters everywhere and somehow even more boxes than in the rest of the house (at least that Jackie had seen so far).

“Verdammte schande!” Henrik swore, standing next to the man. “You would not believe that he’s been living here for over a year, it’s ridiculous!” he smiled, noticing the slight twitch on Jackie’s lips as well.

“So… not sure if it is ok for me to ask, but what’s going on? With Chase?”

He lifted up a grainy, black and white picture with little (ever so slight) glitches in the print. It depicted four young people by the bed of a river, next to a high, metal, chain-link fence, with several bottles of alcohol and smiles on their faces. More specifically, it was Jackie, Stacy, Chase and what Henrik could only presume was Jack. And it was taken from above.

Jackie sort of laughed, in more of a sad way, then perched himself on one of the boxes. “What’s not going on with Chase?” Henrik looked confused for a second so he clarified “I mean, there’s a lot wrong with the guy. Like, a lot. He thinks all his life’s issues will be saved if Jack wakes up, but that… that’s just not how things work.” He looked down at the box he was sat on, fiddling aimlessly with bits of paper.

“Ok, but you want your friend awake right?” Henrik asked.

“Yeah…” said Jackie half-heartedly “I mean he got really weird later on, getting into geology and maths and shit, but you know, things were better then.”

“Math is not that weird…” Henrik chuckled

Jackie kept absent-mindedly sifting through the papers “I don’t really know if it was maths, it had numbers and- what. The. Fuck.”

Marvin had no clue how it got there. Well he had, it had been sent with all the other props, but that didn’t help. In fact that made it so much worse.

Everyone aside from Marvin’s online German buddy of many years started immediately screaming at him, letting him know why what he was saying was wrong/awful/generally evil and going doom everyone.

Nobody spoke for a while, until Chase cleared his throat.

“What the FUCK is going on, Marvin, tell us.” Stacy yelled, fists clenched.

“I- I don’t, I mean, I just don’t. This is kind of wonderful though, I mean… now we know a lot more!” he smiled, making Henrik absolutely despair in him.

“Can we uh, CAN WE LET MARVIN EXPLAIN HIS SELF?” Henrik interrupted and, to his surprise, everyone did actually shut up.

“Thanks, uh, what I mean is we now know that the director of this thing is involved, or something, or like the person supplying the props…”

“What’s the film called again?” he asked.

“Auf Wiedersehen Sagen” Marvin clarified.

Jackie tried to piece it together “Goodbye… say…”

“Say Goodbye.” Henrik corrected.

“It’s an instruction, to us.” Stacy clasped her hand over her mouth before whispering “it wants us to give up.”
