I don’t understand how you could claim that I abused you, but then eagerly flood your art blog with pictures of my OCs. Stand alone pictures, shipping pictures, silly little scribbles and nonsense doodlings.

I don’t understand how you could claim that I ruined you and that you needed to cut me out of your life, but you’re still tagging things debating which of our OCs you ship more than others. You’re still using the cute little tags we, or I, created for my OCs.

How can you be so heartless and continue to use my characters for your amusement while openly spitting in my face? There’s no question that it’s sadistic, the only question is just how willfully sadistic it is. 

First things first, I'd like to acknowledge and refute the continuous use of the word "abuse" in this context. I've witnessed abuse, physical and mental, in my lifetime. I've watched others suffer through it and I've trudged through it myself with my family and past relationships. It's a very heavy word and one that, in my opinion, is never meant to be used lightly. Abuse is a willful disregard of another human being's comfort and rights. The differences and disagreements I suffered with Mika do not, in any way, qualify as abuse and it's incredibly infuriating to constantly be wrongly accused of something I take so close to heart.

I did not abuse her. I did not "chase her off the internet, prevent her from finishing artwork that didn't pertain to my interests and keep her screen streamed at all times."

Let's address this.

In the light of our suddenly cut-off friendship (I was never told WHY we were no longer friends, just that something had happened and she didn't want to speak about it), I attempted multiple times to contact Mika. At first I was frantic and terrified at the prospect of suddenly losing my best friend, and then I sent a much more level-headed message saying that I was willing to give her the space she needed. I have a feeling these attempts were regarded as "harassment," though the only cruel thing I ever accused her of was making my little sister cry -- which she did. That happens when you abruptly cut someone out of your life that really cares about you. It was wrong. And, Mika, you deserved to be called out on that one.

Shortly after Mika cut off all contact, I suffered a massive emergency. Those who have been following would remember that my girlfriend fell unconscious in the shower and cracked her head open. In my absolute panic, I attempted to contact Mika from the hospital while waiting to see if my girlfriend was alright. None of my calls were answered, nor my texts. Perhaps THIS is the harassment or how I "ran her off the internet," but it was never ever an attempt at doing that. I was reaching for someone I trusted and felt I needed during an incredibly frightening time of my life. My supposed best friend offered me zero support, because holding a grudge over something I was never even given the decency of KNOWING took precedence.

A few weeks after, I sent a very long and thoughtful e-mail to Mika in a final attempt to heal whatever had happened. Again, I never received an answer. To this day I remain in the dark as to what caused the sudden end of our friendship, though I've made a fair number of assumptions. Still, there's nothing more eating and powerless than watching someone you cared about walk away without the decency to tell you why. Especially after they've promised that they would never, ever do that to you.

Moving on, the accusation that I prevented Mika from ever finishing artwork that wasn't relevant to my interests is laughable. I spent plenty of time actively encouraging Mika to draw new things, to draw her own OCs, to design animals or clothing or any number of things. In fact, I could easily find quotes from our conversation where I ask her if she ever feels like I'm monopolizing her art in any way and insisting that she let me know if that's the case. I can also find plenty of evidence to times where I hounded her to work on commissions and encouraged her to make a career out of it, to buckle down and really make art her profession. Mika willingly absorbed herself in drawing things that aligned themselves to my interest and has now decided that it was slave labor. It's a pretty hurtful accusation considering I made a constant effort to urge her to broaden her canvas. I'm not to blame for her lack of commitment to professionalism nor the commissions people purchased from her and, if it's any credit to my character in this situation, I was typically the one her clients turned to when she herself failed to answer them in any way.

Lastly, it's basically impossible for me to have acted as a tyrant and enforced that Mika's screen was constantly being streamed. In fact, shortly before we stopped speaking, Mika's complaint was that I "wasn't paying enough attention to her." I was pretty regularly absorbed in World of Warcraft at the time and, when I wasn't gallavanting on there, I was working full-time hours. We discussed the fact I wasn't paying attention and I apologized, even offered to spend more time with her once I realized I'd been pretty neglectful. I never got the chance to, but to say that I was hawking her nonstop is just ludicrous. I have, and had, better things to do than serve as some internet warden.

I've been mostly silent through this entire goddamn escapade. I've let Mika weave whatever stories she wanted in hopes that maybe she just needed to vent. That maybe, somehow, things could be fixed and I could have my friend back. I'm learning, however, that I may be permanently cast as the villain in this scenario. But let it be said that I never had any ill intentions toward Mika; I loved her, I shared everything with her and I constantly supported her and sought the best for her even when the going got really, really tough. I can agree that our friendship had become toxic, but I still believe that it could have been fixed with a dedicated effort on both our parts.; it always felt like we'd been through too much to just end it all in a snap.

I really hope that she can heal and move past this. I hope eventually I don't have to be painted as such a monster. And, perhaps stupidly, I still hope that I could one day have that friendship back. It's awfully uncomfortable missing someone who has decided, for all intents and purposes, that they hate you.

13: What would your character die for?

People and things she loves, full stop. She loves easily and often, and fully, and she’d die for any of her friends or romantic interests in a heartbeat. Noelia is a little too eager to sacrifice herself, honestly, and kind of stupid about it because most of them don’t love her back.

22: What is the worst thing your character has ever done?

Juggling thirteen boyfriends at once because she “just couldn’t pick!” is pretty bad; so is throwing around “I love you” as a threat instead of what it should mean, and guilting people into staying with her.

She’s also killed a man, but it was in a justifiable circumstance and she doesn’t see it as a bad thing.

31: What social media would your character use?

Everything. Every single thing. She loves taking pictures of herself and posting them, and people love pictures of her, especially the sexy ones. Everyone who bothers to follow her knows pretty much everything about her life, though she kindly hides the name of her latest boyfriend, and their face if they ask really, really nicely, most of the time.

40: What would be your character's favorite school subject?

Sucking the end of her pencil to imply to the teacher that she ought to get an A. If you really press her, she’s pretty fond of Literature classes. Some of those stories are really good.

48: How would your character type?

Slowly. Lots of chatspeak, horrible form.

8: Does your character hate anyone? Why?

He hates Blane and Arys Syraneres with a burning, fiery passion for picking on him the way they did, especially Arys. He also hates them for looking at his sister, ever. He hates everyone who’s ever looked at his sister in a way that was not purely loving and innocent of any sexual desire. He hates people who use and abuse the weak, also, as a general rule.

15: What music genre would your character listen to?

Rap! But also lots of alternative and soft rock and pop. Pretty much slightly hipster but mostly mainstream, boring stuff. Also some folky stuff, secretly, very secretly.

17: Does your character have any irrational fears?

Yes! For one thing, Janeus is really superstitious and puts lots of stock in things like voodoo: brooms falling over, spilling salt, black cats, shattered mirrors. Those kinds of things make him super nervous that something bad is going to happen, and that’s pretty irrational! He has a very healthy (arguably) fear of spirits. He’s afraid of being perceived as weak, for fear that something will happen to him again. He is constantly worried that something bad is going to happen to his sister, or is happening, right now. Rejection. Hurting someone in literally any way (unless they deserve it and he’s angry).

31: What social media would your character use?

Snapstagram, def. He doesn’t post a lot about his life, but he does sure show off pictures of his muscles. And keep an eye on his sister.

36: Does anyone want to harm your character?

I don’t think so? Janeus is a pretty unassuming dude who doesn’t especially want to take over his company, but if he has to do it he would rather not get in anybody’s way. He’s easy to control and people definitely want to manipulate him, but I don’t think anyone has a burning desire to injure him.

5: Describe your character's dream date.

Surrounded by shiny things and gold, probably, but doing something quiet and intimate. Reading is ideal here, as long as she is also being pampered and laying on nice blankets and eating nice food.

19: What is your character's deepest, darkest secret?

How selflessly and deeply she is/was actually, honest to fuck, in love with Navira. Enough not to want to hurt Yvris, however jealous she was, and isn’t trying to force herself into her life or onto Navira. She guards her love aggressively, and is wont to get violent if it’s ever pointed out. Certainly she deserves what she wants, but doesn’t Navira, too? Bye, Vylanna. Bye.

29: What would be your character's favorite food?

Red meats. Raw or blue, as close to raw as you can get. Cover them in edible gold for extra points, or something else pretty. She likes berries and fruits aesthetically, but isn’t a big fan of how they taste, which is kind of hilarious.

30: Would your character have any hobbies?

Not really, apart from admiring her own reflection. She does like to read books, sometimes, but it only holds her interest for so long. Napping is kind of a hobby? Making herself even more beautiful is also a hobby.

31: What social media would your character use?

Nothing, really, because it strikes her as immature human frippery.

2: What is your character's favorite memory?

He isn’t sure that he could pick something out, mostly because a large portion of his life is a drunken blur. He does miss his sister; he supposes sitting around in the streets with her when he was a pretty young boy counts.

4: Does anyone have a crush on your character? Is your character aware of this?

Everyone should have a crush on Malach. He assumes you do, anyway.

6: What is your character's sexual orientation?

As gay as the day is long. As gay as Cerienne’s legs are great.

8: Does your character hate anyone? Why?

Not really. Malach doesn’t hold grudges because it’s too much effort, though he has a distinct disdain for people who don’t know how to take care of themselves and can’t be assed to make the effort to learn. Why would you choose to be unattractive? He seriously cannot fathom it.

10. Would your character ever kill someone?

Absolutely. Malach comes first. He wouldn’t particularly enjoy it, but he isn’t against it.

12: How would/does your character feel about roller coasters?

They’re okay. He’s kind of a big baby and doesn’t like being scared, so he’d prefer to stay on the ground, but they can be fun if you talk him into it and he’s drunk enough to go (very likely).

14: What is the cutest thing your character has ever done?

Sometimes he leaves Cerienne flowers on her desk if she’s feeling especially not beautiful or unloved that morning. He’s got a good sense for that sort of thing.

16: What other fictional characters remind you of your character?

18: How would your character feel about having their life recorded?

Sure! Why not. Nothing he does is a secret, Malach doesn’t have secrets. If he has feelings, he has feelings, but probably not! Who wouldn’t want to watch him party?

20: What is the most surprising thing about your character?

Actually a pretty decent guy, and gives good love advice, especially when he’s sober. He makes friends easily and actually really cares about them, and their well-being.

22: What is the worst thing your character has ever done?

Once he shot a guy in the temple with his very nice, very sleek pistol because they were a threat to the mob and he had to do his job. Malach isn’t usually a killer, and he didn’t really enjoy that very much. Doesn’t exactly keep him up, but he doesn’t like to think about it.

Stringing a couple guys along for giggles is probably the other worst thing.

24: What prejudices does your character have?

Honest to god straight people gross him out a little bit. They’re weird???

26: What is your favorite headcanon for your character?

Malach perfumes his paperwork. He also leaves little thoughtful friendship gifts and notes for people he really likes, gay little things, even if they are kind of silly. Like shots of jager after a bad day at work or flowers.

28: What pet would your character like to have?

He loves birds! Big, pretty, colorful feathery monsters that talk and chirp prettily. He has a cockatiel! Haha, holy shit, that thing is such a dick.

30: Would your character have any hobbies?

Apart from clubbing and being extremely fucking drunk, not really.

Everything. Look at him! Look at how great his life is! Look at how hot he is! Haha, you will literally never be this awesome. He isn’t even insecure. He’s just self-absorbed as shit.

Malach is an extremely vain man. He’s lithe and toned up and always crisp and clean, always fashionable and put together even when he’s a disheveled drunken mess, somehow. The day Malach’s wrinkled pants don’t look great with his tie, some-fucking-how, is the day he fucking shoots himself. That said, he is also extremely drunk 24/7, and that’s pretty evident too.He’s pretty damn good looking, with dark skin and darker hair and a constant 5’o’clock shadow that suits him.

34: What is cliche about your character?

Drunk. Homosexual. Pretty flamboyant and extremely drunk. 24/7.

36: Does anyone want to harm your character?

I don’t think so. Probably Valerian, sometimes.

38: What role does your character play in their story?

Ceri’s drunk gay secretary/deceptively useful informant. That’s literally it. He doesn’t do anything else. I love him anyway.

Math! He really likes Math. It makes sense to him.

A bartender, probably, tbh. But he’s very happy with what he’s doing!

His appearance. His job. Where he’s come on his own - he clawed himself up from the slums to be this man.

You know what? Yeah, sure. Malach’s got a pretty sick life.

Snarky and sarcastic and funny. I like writing his jokes. His loyalty to his friends is also pretty sweet.

Whining about having to do things, probably, though he really likes playing soccer and would shut up long enough to do that.

Malach’s childhood was actually pretty dark. His mom was a narcissistic and abusive woman, his dad left when he was six, and they didn’t have much in the way of money. He doesn’t talk - or think - about it.

Chews on things. Constantly. Toothpicks, gum, whatever.

58: Is your character dorky or more athletic?

Tbh he’s a total nerd. He likes shitty movies and cuddling and dancing like a moron and reading books about, like, math, but also bad romance novels.

60: If you could title your character's life, what would you title it?

ARYS: 7, 9, 13, 17, 31, 60

7: How does your character feel about their name?

He admits that his middle name (Ophelian) is a little ridiculous, but Arys is a solid name, a strong name. It is short enough and flowy enough to mumble while you’re getting slammed into a wall, but it holds its own with other men’s names in a political lineup. Syraneres is the best name anyone could ask for - you should be fucking grateful there is a Syraneres in the room, they are blessed by the city’s founder, they might have god’s blood in their veins somewhere, he might not measure up to the name but he measures up against it a whole lot better than you ever could.

9: How does your character feel about religion?

Religion strikes him as something that is meant for historians to study and uncivilized, underdeveloped people to use as a coping mechanism in place of science. While it’s absolutely fascinating to study, and he enjoys the effect culture has on the development of its religion and how much creation stories vary, etc., he thinks it has absolutely no place in a “real” society with technology. Especially since, you know, they’re living in what he thinks is a god. There is nothing worth worshipping more than yourself and what you can accomplish: the gods are dead, humanity killed them, and you are human. Therefore, you are god. Just, maybe, less so god than him.

13: What would your character die for?

His brother, Blane, in any sense: Blane’s safety, reputation, happiness, well-being, or at his request without question. His own reputation, and that of his family’s. Nothing else. He will not sacrifice himself for anyone else only because it would leave Blane behind, without him, and Arys cannot stomach that.

17: Does your character have any irrational fears?

He spends every moment of his life expecting his father to come around the corner, even when he’s out of town for a month and everyone knows it, there was a newspaper article. He is constantly tense, expecting someone (his father, usually) to confront him with evidence of his and Blane’s relationship: the notes they leave, the chocolates, the vodka bottles. Worse, he keeps waiting for them to get caught mid-kiss or, worst of all, mid-fuck. He is also irrationally terrified that someone will somehow know what has been happening to he and Blane in their household, magically; also, that his mother will know when he sneaks a chip out of a bag at a party, or that he had bread with his lunch because Brittany gave him hers by accident.

31: What social media would your character use?

Lmao. Snapstagram, definitely. He’d have a tumblr, if that were a thing on the upper ring, but mostly just for storing porn. And a facebook! Gotta be able to tell everybody how important you are and show them all the cool stuff you’re doing. Tumblr and facebook and snapstagram are probably all linked together, and the posts go to all three of them at once. Plus, you know, his porn sideblog.

60: If you could title your character's life, what would you title it?

ZINAIDA: 4, 8, 15, 28, 31

4: Does anyone have a crush on your character? Is your character aware of this?

The only person she is aware of as having a crush on her is her brother, Ethain, which is fucked up all by itself but is a topic for another question. If anyone else has a crush on her, she doesn’t know, and I urge them to seek help.

8: Does your character hate anyone? Why?

She hates the Syraneres siblings, a little, for getting Ethain into trouble; she also has an irrationally powerful hate for Janeus Avendim, blaming him entirely for the situation that resulted in Ethain’s beating. How dare he have gotten them caught? What an awful asshole. Cerienne she forgives because defending her brother is understandable, but she blames Janeus for letting her find out.

She also hates Lord and Lady Avendim, for administering the beating of Ethain’s life. She hates her parents most violently of all, for all of their neglect and maltreatment, and allowing the Avendims to do such an awful thing to her brother. How could they? They’ll pay.

15: What music genre would your character listen to?

She likes classical music, mostly. Anything with strings and piano will capture her attention at least until she passes judgment; modern music like hip-hop, pop, and R&B are usually dismissed on principle as uncivilized and unintelligent. Surrealism will also capture her attention.

28: What pet would your character like to have?

Zinaida does not like animals. They are smelly and stupid, and require much care. If she were going to have any animal at all, it would be a white cat and it would be sleek, short-haired, and take excellent care of itself, and be allowed to go outside and kill what it pleases but would still have to be clean when it came back in. Anything else that is largely independent and cleanly would be okay, she supposes, like reptiles, but she doesn’t like animals as a rule.

31: What social media would your character use?

She has a snapstagram account only because it is expected of her, and rarely posts to it. When she does, it is usually posts advised to her by her staff. She couldn’t care less. Social media is a waste of time. She does not care about you people, and you certainly don’t care about her, except to locate her weaknesses. Why should she show them to you?

CERENAYA: 3, 11, 31, 43, 55

3: What is your character's least favorite memory?

The same as Jae-yong’s, pretty much. She’s had a lot of bad things happen to her, but the worst one was waking up in the back of an armored truck with a dozen people she didn’t know, a splitting headache, and no ability to move any part of her body except her eyes. She hates crying in front of people. She missed Jae so much, and was a little selfishly sorry that he wasn’t with her.

11: How did your character meet their best friend?

She’d consider Jae-yong her best friend, unsurprisingly. She met him when he was fourteen and she was fifteen, and they were both new to the slums, stumbling teenagers who hadn’t quite figured out how to fit in and were therefore cast to the sidelines as, at best, ‘fresh meat.’ People like that have to stick together. He had a bloody lip and she had some disinfectant. The rest is history.

31: What social media would your character use?

She’d be an Instagram kind of girl. Not big on liveblogging her whole life to everyone, so tumblr’s pretty much out and so is facebook, but she likes pictures and taking pictures of things that matter to her.

43: What is your character insecure about?

She is very selfishly insecure about her body, even though Jae-yong will love her no matter what she’s got going on and she’s very aware of that fact. She hates that doesn’t appear more feminine, especially when stacked up against some of the other women she’s seen, and that she doesn’t have the money to even try to look like them. She also worries that Jae will not be able to handle her anymore and leave, some day, now that she is a massive freak with one bad eye and one bad ear and no ability to handle arguments or combat situations.

55: Would your character do the Ice Bucket Challenge?

Totally. It’s for a good cause and it sounds fun! It’d make people laugh. She’d laugh. It’d be fun.

CRAG: 12, 21, 27, 31, 39

12: How would/does your character feel about roller coasters?

He likes them, in theory, since he’s never been on one. The drop in his stomach and the fear of falling, the rush of going that fast, would all be things that he could actually feel. He’d love it, if he ever got the chance.

21: Is your character flexible?

No. His range of motion is a little bit limited compared to most people, and he usually passes just fine as ‘normal,’ if tense, but can’t do anything even remotely close to impressive.

27: What would be the worst way for your character to die?

Because of his morph, the absolute worst way that Crag could die would be intense heat, probably fire. His exoskeleton would melt before the rest of him, bubbling and popping excruciatingly painfully and probably constantly trying to transform to escape as an instinctive defense mechanism, like flailing your leg around when in a bear trap even though that’s only going to make it worse or kicking uselessly at something on top of you. He would roast alive inside of it, probably over the course of a couple hours. Crag is horrifically afraid of fire, after his first (thankfully controlled) experience with it.

39: What would be your character's niche on Tumblr?
