#woke language

In an apparent attempt to inculcate “woke” language into the verbiage of hundreds of millions of people, Microsoft has developed an “inclusiveness” checker in its Word software that would highlight phrases that might offend others...

Post modern and critical theories rely on the misuse of words to mystify people. The downstream effects of this bullshittery are apparent as even the Merriam Webster dictionary is now having difficulty defining what a woman is. Always define your terms when you arguing with the woke – it is 9/10ths of their game. Demonstrate the linguistic tomfoolery and you might have a chance at a productive…

So I’m gonna tell y’all a story.

Years ago, I was in a poly relationship.  His wife and I decided to throw him a surprise birthday party, and invited some of our closest friends.

After the wife, their son and I went to bed, they all decided to have an orgy out in the living room.  Without asking us, without telling us, with his 11yo kid asleep in the next room.

And then when I complained the next day after finding out about it, I was told by one of our male friends who participated in it that it was “just oral sex which isn’t real sex so it doesn’t count.”  <---bullshit #1

But wait, there’s more!

The pagan church we all belonged to had been renting space from a Universal Unitarian Church, but that church was in the process of selling their building/land and moving to a different location.  And the pagan church had started a land fund years earlier and had been saving up money to get their own space.  They found an old Masonic temple for sale which sounds great, except: a)it was located in the highest crime-rate part of the metro, b)the land fund committe, which the guy who informed me that oral sex isn’t real sex so it didn’t count was on, massaged the crime rate numbers by comparing a year’s worth of crime statistics at the UU church rental with just one month’s worth of crime rate statistics at the Masonic temple location to try to fool people into believing they were the same, c)The building itself was very much in disrepair (you could literally see through the walls on the first floor, there were massive cracks in the foundation you could see from the basement, etc), and d)the “plan” was to make this place affordable by counting on renting out the space every week for events, which would have been ridiculous considering the location and the state of disrepair of the place.

When I pointed all of this out, and suggested an alternative (I had found a multiple acre property for much cheaper and researched alternative building methods including straw bale, and presented that info to the group), the guy who informed me that oral sex isn’t real sex so it didn’t count told me, via the email chain everyone in the church was a part of, that I really “need to work on my own trauma and wounds instead of inflicting them on the group.” <--- bullshit #2

It should surprise no one who knows me at this point that I fucking EXPLODED into rage.

(By the way, I and one other person was able to successfully stop the purchase of the old Masonic temple, but we were driven out of the church as a result; I found out later that the church bought some shared space in a co-op in a different part of the metro later, and then less than a year later, a young child got killed in a drive-by less than a mile from the old Masonic temple.  So, yanno.  Glad it wasn’t a child of one of the church members, still gutted that a child got killed.)

But yeah.  There are certain people who will do that, who will use “woke” language to try to manipulate, control and silence other people.
