I’m watching an recently released kdrama that’s eerily very very similar to a story I had drafted back in 2017, is this common?

Shanus's species.... uh, so in FR world theyre like, underground lizards. are they dragons? maybe. are they lizards? maybe. who knows? not them. but they live underground, ovo and are very sort of tribal, there's a lot of rules and customs. only one gender!! so all are supposedly capable of carrying a child or putting one in someone else! (their reproductive system is.... my favorite I've ever made tbh, but that's its own post on my nsfw blog) its very normal for them to be Poly, but with ranking of partners in terms of importance,,, the original ocs species were ALIENS, so like, no human rules apply they're dying out tho!! very few of them left! *-* Shanus actually left home following the destruction of their tribes home, and rarely sees another one of their people in sornieth. they have this super cool defense mechinism where like, some of the disks of their spines are able to be slipped out of place at will in order to change size and height, which can be useful! but they have to be manually reset, and its a difficult procedure that was typically done by a special person in the tribe, but since they're dying out, so is the practice, so Shanus actually is seen as shorter than they are, since its hard to find someone to reset the disks...
