âY/n!â The shrill voice of Mrs Smith cut through the silence of the class, everyoneâs heads whipping round, multiple pairs of beady eyes staring into your soul. You could feel your face heating up, and you felt like you were going to explode. You just wanted to shrivel up within yourself or melt into a puddle like the wicked witch of the west.
âStop staring into space and pay attentionâ Her voice became higher as she stalked towards you desk, slamming her hand down on the wooden table, making you and your stationary jump. She roughly grabbed the shut textbook on your desk, and flicked through the pages aggressively, tearing the corners of the pristine book slightly. Your eyes were wide staring, into her small sunken eyes that seem void of life. She suddenly lifted her hand, jabbing her wrinkly old finger onto the page, every jab accentuated by a word. âOneâ Jab âMoreâ Jab âWarningâ Jab âAndâ jab âYouâllâ jab âgetâ jab âattentionâ Jab, jab, jab. She was jabbing the book so hard you through her finger was going to break.
The class erupted into whispers, groups of friends were muttering, every so often staring over in your direction. Some people just looked over at you in pity, others snarled at you. But everyoneâs head bolted forward, when Mrs smith suddenly shrieked âShut up!!â and suddenly all the attention that was on you had left as quickly as it came.
The material in the class was boring, and you knew you were going to drift off into sleep soon, the textbook that was ripped open, left ignored in front of you, your eyes drifting out of the window, spotting the long black-haired guy who had caught your attention. Everyone called him a freak, a devil worshiper, his whole group being the social pariah of high school. But to you, he was mysterious, he played his cards close to his chest, and you wanted to be able to sneak up behind him and read those cards over his shoulder. Itâs part of the reason you started to learn to play dungeon and dragons. You wanted to be able to join hellfire, become part of Eddieâs close circle and see him for who he really was, but being Jasonâs adoptive sibling, meant that you couldnât. You instead had to steal secretive glances across the cafeteria, in the hallways, and out the window as your brother drove you home. It meant learning d&d in private, hiding any evidence under your bed, away from your bully brother. It meant going to all your brotherâs games whenever you just wanted to try and join hellfire. It meant pining after Eddie Munson, the guy who owned your heart and had no idea.

I've decided that I'm going to turn my new notebook into a devotional journal to Artemis. đ #newnotebook, #devotionaljournal, #patronessgoddess, #witchywritings https://www.instagram.com/p/CNKsyQMF3aM/?igshid=18wjwq15o5i5m
Summary: The bunker protects the reader and the boys from evil. Well, not from all evil.
A/n â This is basically what happened to me last night, apart from having a Sam to save me. I slept on the sofa, and I havenât been upstairs since. Dreading going back to bed tonight! I hate spiders!
Warnings â Mentions of Spiders, Mention and description of panic attacks.

You just couldnât get comfortable, after going to bed two hours ago, and indulging yourself in your favourite tv show, something just didnât feel right. The bed was too lumpy, too soft, too hard; you were too hot under the duvet cover, but too cold to not have the thin cover over your body. Something just wasnât sitting right, something making the hairs on your arm stand up. It wasnât a monster; the bunker was protected against any evil.
Sitting up slowly, you squinted, taking in your surroundings. It was hard to see with the room being so dark, but nothing was out of place, the wardrobe and bedside table were still situated in the same place. The wardrobe doors were shut like you left them, and your personal items were still scattered across the top of your bedside table. Sighing, you lay back down. Nothing was wrong, but yet something was still off.
âMaybe if I just turn on the lampâ You whispered to yourself, reaching over, and pressing the little switch. The warm yellow glow of the lamp illuminating the room. âNothingâs out of placeâ you talk to yourself âEverythingâs where it belongs.â
Suddenly, you catch movement out the corner of your eye, your head whips round staring at the door. Your heart starts thumping manically, bile rising in your throat. Your hands cover your lips, muffling a small scream, you donât want to wake the boys. The creature starts to move again, towards your bedside table, tears start to pool in your eyes.
âYouâre ok (y/n), just breatheâ you say to yourself, eyes focused on the area where the creature has slinked into the darkness. Slowly, building the courage, you reach forward picking up some easy clothes to change into, as well as grabbing a lore book; thereâs no way youâre sleeping tonight.
Your heart rate has slowed, your breathing coming back to a normal rate. The creature still out of sight. âRight, Iâll grab all my things, and run out the door. Iâll be okâ You give yourself a pep talk. Placing your foot down on the rug, thatâs when you see it.
The big black creature, scurrying across your floor back toward the door, its hairy eight legs moving un-naturally. The spider catches you by surprise and you let out a small squeal. Your eyes follow its every move, your heart pounding out of your chest, tears cascading down your cheeks. You can feel a panic attack coming on.
The spider is now by your door its thick legs tapping the wood. âIâm trappedâ you sputter, âItâs blocking the door. How do I get out?â you question yourself, voice cracking. Your body frozen in place, almost like your paralyzed and the only thing you can move are your eyes.
Abruptly, the spider moves again, this time faster. Its black legs sending chills down your spine, and then it gone again, down by the side of your bedside table. Hoping that it stays there long enough for you to escape, you focus on calming your breathing. Once you feel like you have your body under control again, you wipe the few tears off your face.
Your body is still too scared to fully move, yet youâre able to gather a few items youâll need for the night once youâve left. âThis is so stupid. Itâs probably more scared of me then I am of it⊠maybe not.â You mutter as you pick up your phone, the screen lighting up to read 1am. âI wish I wasnât this scared.â
Leaning down to grab your phone charger from the plug socket, your hand brushes the plastic plug, before freezing. Youâre in a stare off, the dark big spider, blending into your dark oak side table. It leaps towards you, its hairy thick legs rushing towards your exposed skin.
Itâs now or never, as the spider almost lands on you, you grab the few things you had already gathered, before sprinting to your door. Throwing it open, the door ricochets on its hinge. But you donât look back, your legs carrying you towards your location and away from your worst nightmare. âI guess the bunker does let some evil inâ you pant as you arrive in the library.
Finding the small, comfy seat in the corner, you sit down with a sigh, being away from the spider means that its easier for you think clearly. Checking the time, you see that its 2:30am. âIt took me an hour and a half to escape. But at least Iâm safe now!â You let out a breathy laugh, âI can hunt the things that go bump in the night but canât save myself from a spider.â
When you open your eyes, its early morning, your head feels groggy but youâre glad you managed to get some shut eye. All you can remember before you went to sleep was the big black spider, youâre surprised you didnât have a nightmare. âI wonder if itâs still in my roomâ You murmur, thoughts of the creature of darkness crawling over your skin as you try to sleep.
Promptly, your thoughts were interrupted the door to the library opening, as Sam padded in, yawning, and stretching; a small amount of his flannel rising, displaying his sculpted stomach.
âOh, (y/a)! What are you doing up sweetheart?â He questioned, his eyes calming and soothing. Tears started to build up in your eyes, a small one dribbling down your cheek. His face scrunching up in worry.
âThere was a spider, in my room. Like big.â You wave your hands around to demonstrate.
âWhy didnât you wake me (y/n), you know I would have saved youâ Sam mumbled, wiping the tears away from the corners of your eyes.
âIâm sorry.â
âNothing to be sorry about Sweetheart. Go to my room, get some sleep and Iâll go check your roomâ
Standing silently, you nod your head at the gentle giant, a breathy âthank youâ tumbling off of your lips.
You might be scared of spiders, but you smile as you know the boys, especially your man will always protect you; even if itâs just a creepy crawly.
Welcome to the Witchy House! I'm your host, Mousey~
I do believe a mission statement is in order:
The two things I love are Writing and being a Witch; both bring me joy and both are things I love to talk about, so here I am on tumblr.
I'm someone who's migrating back to tumblr after being gone for about five or seven years (this mouse is old, forgive them their poor memory lol), so I'll be trying to learn all the new features--or ignoring them completely until someone is nice enough to point out how they'll make my life easier lol
All that being said, I accept most questions with grace, and all questions in good faith (until you lose that privilege), but I will be focusing on the two things mentioned above.
On the writing side, I only give advice and will offer what I can in terms of resources!
On the witchy side, I offer advice, research tips for building your own witchy toolbox (physical and otherwise), I love talking about tarot and oracle cards in specifics and in general, and I offer free and paid tarot/oracle readings
If you'd like to leave an Ask or DM me, please read my House Rules first! Much appreciated~
Disclaimer about paid services: I will NEVER solicit a reading in anyone's DMs. If someone claiming to be me is trying to sell a reading to you (on this or any other website), it's certainly not me, and I would advise you not to engage any further--tarot is a practice easily infiltrated by charlatans, but it can be easier than you think to find valid and true readers here on tumblr! (I might make a post later about what to watch for when trying to find a trusted reader, but please advise: I've only done readings on tiktok up until last year and most of my advice is more tailored to that community until I spend more time here again)
