Witches Circle
Witches cast a circle to create a sacred space where the energies we are working with are contained, consecrated and protected. It should always be the first step of any ritual performed.
Sweep the area you will be using for your circle with a broom or bosom. This is not only to clear the space of physical obstructions or rubbish but metaphysical energies that are negative. After, you may invite others into your circle. You can use a wand, anthem or sword to cast your circle, though your hand/finger is also a powerful tool you can use. At your starting point, (usually the East) begin walking clockwise three times while holding your magick tool drawing your circle with the point of your tool or finger.
Visualize the sphere or dome of protection as you do this. If you or others need to leave, or re-enter the circle, you must draw a door to travel through (usually at the North-East Side) cleanse and strengthen with incense while saying
“I call upon the powers of fire and air to protect and consecrate this circle” Then, with a mixture of salt and water, sprinkle it around your circle saying,
“ I call upon the powers of Earth and Water to protect and consecrate my circle”
Once your ritual is ended, walk three times around your circle in an anti-clock direction. Thank the elements and deities that you invited to take part in your ritual and circle as you do so. Direct the energies you worked with intent to the desired recipient.
