Our mission is to bring together a community of critical thinking witches and seekers of all varieties – centering the secular, nontheistic, agnostic, atheist, skeptical, and science-minded – to meet, network, commune, collaborate, share, support one another, and learn from each other in kindness, curiosity, and creativity. We strive to foster a safer space where magic and science are respected equally, acknowledging that there can be genuine beauty and meaning in the mysterious.

This year's theme: Perception (Perspective) Check: Life through a Seekers Lens. Join us while you discover and discuss some of the different ways we see the witchy world. Connect, learn, and get involved with community of science-minded witches and seekers!

Are you interested in learning more about us for free?

Check out or free virtual event this Sunday August 26th! We call our smaller event "Brews" and they they are part lecture, part workshop, and part community interaction.

As a lead into our Con's theme of "Perception (and Perspective) Check!" we are starting the conversation with special guest, @DaylinaMiller. Daylina (they/them) is a full-time multimedia journalist at the Tampa NPR affiliate, where they’ve covered health and the LGBTQIA+ community for nearly ten years. They’ve also been a practicing atheist witch for the past 17 years and regularly help their coven mates research and debunk misinformation related to witchcraft.

I guess this is a bit of like a random update post? I've made much more progress on my book of shadows, now over 200 pages and 42,000 words. I have finished preliminary entries/descriptions of the Major Arcana, and the Wands and Cups suits of the Lesser/Minor Arcana of the Tarot. I've also added sections for fictional witches (TV and movie representatives of witches) and deities. Though I am not anticipating getting into deity work myself, a base-level study of deities from different cultures/practices is something I feel will be handy for when I encounter witches that do deity work, or are devotees.

Tonight is a sort of societal coming out for me as I am attending my first ever "witchy" event at a coffee shop, after-hours. It is an event for the Autumn Equinox, with some magical vendors, a tarot reader, some workshops, and some festive treats and drinks. This event is also in the town I am hoping to move to within the next 6-8 months. I'm going to be brave and attend this event by myself- so fingers crossed it goes well and the community is cool.

Also- "Agatha All Along"?! What a witchin' good time of a show. And The Ballad? It's absolutely been on repeat for me since it dropped on Spotify. I'm so excited to get to look forward to this show each week through October. The timing of this is pretty kismet as I've been ramping up my studies- it'll be a fun yet topical reprieve for me.

So I really want to get a bunch of witches together and have a MASSIVE celebration and gathering in the summer of 2018 maybe even for Beltane! I have lots of ideas myself but I really just want to see if it’s possible.

I am located in the U.S.A and I am to broke to travel out of the country but I could most likely find a way to get to another state. Maybe there is a big field we can commandeer that is kinda secluded? We could have multiple group rituals as well as mass blessings and do different spells and enchantments where witches from all over can get it and pitch in their energy and their own touch of magic.

It would also be a great place for us to socialize and connect beyond the screen!!

CTWC's Con 2022 is the place to be for skeptical, secular, agnostic, non-theist, atheist, and scientifical-minded witches.

CritWitchCon2022: Circles, Paths, and Building Our Own

One of the best things about being a Critical Thinking Witch is making what we need, just as we need it. It’s one of the hardest things about it, too.

In this year’s Con, we are exploring the Do It Yourself (DIY) dynamic, and applying it to our craft, our chosen family, and even ourselves. Join us for panel sessions, meet and greets with speakers (who are your friends and world-wide witch neighbors!), vendors, opportunities to connect with far-flung critical thinking witches, and the building of something amazing – our community.
