Not enough friends? Feeling a bit lonely? Friendship is like a garden. If you don’t tend to it, soon there will be no friends left. So, invest the time to make and maintain friendships, talk to others, even those you don’t really care for. They may lead you to other people who you may want to be friends with. Friendship is like any relationship, it takes a little bit of work.

For instance, getting into a serious relationship is an easy way to lose friends. You focus on only one person and forget to tend to the the garden. When that relationship ends you find you have few friends left because you forgot to tend to the friendship garden.

Friendship is important, tend to it, always, build friendships no matter what you relationship status is.
