“Don’t write to me every day, I’ll be too busy being cooler than you!” Fili calls out, his smile wide, his skin all but glowing in the pale sunlight.
Kili takes him in, all of him, ravenous – the curve of Fili’s lips, the tip of his nose pink from the cold, the way he holds himself, like a mischievous child in a grown man’s skin, and knows that he’ll never get enough of this.
“Every day? You’ll be lucky if I write to you at all!” Kili bellows over the wooshing and whirring of the Express, and there’s a brightness in Fili’s eyes – the kind that speaks without a single word. The kind that would move even mountains to tears, knowing that they were so loved.
The kind that makes Kili feel hungry and full at the same time, his heart sated and yet begging for more.

LMAO) Yesterday I recieved a WONDERFUL, MOST FANTASTIC MOST BRILLIANT MOST BEAUTIFUL package from the ever so wonderful and kind and AHSHDHSHHDJSJSJHDHSHDJFJ @myseri for my WinterFRE prize, who made me these BEAUTIFUL crochet bags!! YOU ARE TOO KIND???? I LOVE THEM SO MUCH????? THEY ARE AMAZING?????? I WAS NOT EXPECTING SO MANY BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING THINGS!!!!!! Along with a wonderful postcard (I LOVE POST CARDS LIKE YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!AHDIDJSHDHSHDJEHDHAJAJ) and a wonderful cup which sit on a shelf in my art room!!! Today I took the first on in the second picture for an adventure today - so beautiful and soft and wonderful! I had been looking FOREVER for bags like these, seriously Thankyou, so, SO MUCH!!! I had been in a pretty big funk the last few days, getting your wonderful package is just... I can’t thank you enough! It means so much, like I SERIOUSLY HAVE NO WORDS. I am just so full of love and warmth right now, seriously Thankyou SO SO MUCH!!!!

This is my prize for @chelidona for the WinterFRE2018. The prompt was (shortened):
"Fili and Kili want to get married after the battle, but someone (you choice) is against it. Bilbo (or Dis) defends them, but before the happy ending there's a little drama and hurt feelings."
Oh my, I had so much fun writing that, it got totally out of hand and turned into something way bigger. Further, I'm afraid I overdosed the 'little' drama, since this got way more angsty than I had planned. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy it.

Summary: It was true, that all dwarves came from Mahal. None could be brought to life without his blessing. And it was true, in a way, that they were birthed from the stone of the mountains as the tales of old told. What many did not know, was that all dwarves must first be given form, painstakingly sculpted by hand and tool.
Kili can't help but wonder if his creation was little more than a mistake.
