Kili of the Daisy Clips (Fullsize)

This poor chap has been patiently waiting his turn since early 2022.

Originally, he was meant for a sequel to Revelations, my collab with the super-talented @flow-it-show-it. But then although a lot of the sequel got written, the story took a completely different turn, and the artwork didn't quite fit any more.

Still, me being me, I wanted to draw everything I set out to draw for this verse, so I held back posting anything. I only recently finished the last drawing I wanted for it, thanks to those folks on Discord who regularly talk to me and support me (<3).

I spoke with @flow-it-show-it and we decided to go ahead with posting my secret stash of art for now, so there will be 2 more artworks over the next two weekends. Meanwhile, if you liked Revelations, perhaps you could leave a comment, or show your love and support for the writer, so that the sequel (which I know for a fact is gonna be awesome) also gets the chance to see the light of the day.

Keeping up with my art for this fic (this one was actually done this week not six months ago hahaha) dramatically different tones from the last one, but I love it

Obligatory disclaimer: Ship and let ship, I'm not judging anyone for shipping any of these, even the ones in the F tier, I'm just judging the ships themselves for fun (and also because I made a 37 slide presentation for PowerPoint night at my English club and, alas, they lacked the encyclopedic knowledge of Tolkien to properly appreciate it 😔). Feel free to yell at me (politely!) in my askbox if you feel strongly about any of them

Now, without further ado...

On the S tier!

Éowyn/Faramir: The warrior who became peaceful and the peaceful man who became a warrior healing together. I LOVE narrative foils!!!

Bilbo/Thorin: The beautiful, the classic, the almighty, the birther of many omegaverse fics. I just love the gruff cranky-pants x ray of wholesome sunshine dynamics!

Kili/Tauriel: Controversial choice, I know, but I love the doomed, star-crossed tragedy of it all. Also, both characters are hot as hell, so... 🤷‍♀️

Annatar/Celebrimbor: *deep breath* The TOXICITY! The DRAMA! The BATTLE OF WILL!!! This is far and away the best thing Rings of Power has put out so far!!!

Elendil/Tar-Míriel: A beautifully executed example of the Guard Dog x Boss-ass Bitch dynamic! Two strong and wonderfully well-developed characters working together against impossible odds

Now to the A tier!

Legolas/Gimli: Enemies to friends to lovers! Also, the tol and smol dynamic! It's wonderful, I love it; it just doesn't have that "it" factor for me

Celeborn/Galadriel: They're lovely. They've been through so much - separation, two world wars, losing a child, and they're still together. The DEDICATION!

Arondir/Bronwyn: Forbidden romance, star-crossed lovers, tragic ending, AND good parenting from both of them! The only reason it isn't S tier is because it was too short and ended too abruptly (I understand why it had to, but still... alas)

B Tier

Frodo/Sam: Okay, listen, I KNOW this is a hot take, but I think the romantic interpretation of these two (which is lovely and perfectly plausible, btw!) has overshadowed all other possible interpretations of their relationship. Personally, I prefer either one-sided attraction (on Sam's part) that doesn't even matter because the love between them transcends labels OR ride-or-die platonic bromance

Arwen/Aragorn:...meh. Maybe it's because they're canon and central; maybe it's because their cousins; but it just doesn't really hit for me.

Thorin/Thranduil: I really didn't anticipate this one, but I kinda don't hate it? The enemies to lovers (or just straight-up hate sex)... I can see it! It's not one I ship myself, but a good fic could convince me...

C Tier

Boromir/Aragorn: Why, though? That's got to be the most boring interpretation of these two I could possibly think of. Like, it's not actively horrible, I guess, but WHY!?

Bard/Thranduil: This one I have actually seen around here and there, and while I respect it, I'm not seeing the chemistry.

D Tier

Aragorn/Legolas: Again, why!? They're both the "strong-and-silent" type. What are they going to do? Sit in a room and be pretty at the same time?

And now the F Tier, aka the ones I ACTIVELY dislike.

Fili/Kili: No. Jail. Immediately. They are brothers.

Galadriel/Gandalf: I don't know why Peter Jackson decided to imply it in the Hobbit, but I hate everything about it

Halbrannataron/Galadriel: Okay, this one I UNDERSTAND (the narrative tension between Good and Evil and shades of grey and nobody is wholly one thing or the other) but NO! I have a major squick about infidelity and I WILL filter half the fics in this fandom just to avoid it.
