Today I have two wines from @conosurvineyards in Chile made from the Pinot Noir grape.  Their Cono Sur Pinot Noir Organic 2020, which is #vegan and #organic certified, and their Cono Sur Bicicleta Pinot Noir Rose 2020 that comes in a 1 litre bottle. Both are available at BC Liquor stores.  The Rose is on sale currently for $10.99! Cono Sur Bicicleta Pinot Noir Rose 2020 Appearance: A bring medium peach skin colour. Nose: Medium intensity nose with sweet fruit aromas of strawberries primarily plus red berries. Palate: A little off-dry, round with a thicker mouthfeel.  Medium acidity leaves a prickle on your tongue.  The sweetness is more apparent from mid-palate to finish.  Mainly strawberry flavour with red cherries on the mid-palate to the finish.  It is also a bit steely toward the end. Finish: A medium plus length finishing fruity with strawberries, some tartness, and bramble leaf. Cono Sur Pinot Noir Organic 2020 Appearance: A deep translucent garnet colour with a ruby tint.  About 80% opaque. Nose: Lighter aromas covering vanilla, crushed berries, and touches of oak and sweet spices.  You also get some black cherries with swirling. Palate: Slightly off-dry with a thicker, round, soft mouthfeel.  Lower acidity and light tannins to start.  Floral, raspberries, candied cherries, and plum flavours.  You also get a touch of sweet black fruit with swirling.   Finish: A dry finish, medium length, with black cherry fruit flavour. Yalumba 2018 Bush Vine Grenache (SRP $20): Light ruby color, medium-bodied; lifted aromas of red berries and pretty, perfume-like floral notes are joined on the palate by tart red fruit, white pepper, and brown spice—all set against soft tannins and bright acidity. Fields Family Wines ’14 Stampede Vineyard Zinfandel (SRP $28): Ain't no fun if the homie—The Spaceman—can’t have none (lol). This delicious Zinfandel is produced from 75-85 year old vines and made in small lots (only 100 cases made) with minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar. A bright ruby color, this medium-bodied wine is juicy with beautiful raciness—showing a good sense of balance between richness, freshness and finesse. It offers appealing aromas and flavors of cherry and tart plum (gorgeous fruit), with notes of dill, spice, perfume, and loam adding complexity.
