Any Pinot Gris lovers around? Yes, it is the same variety as Pinot Grigio although the style is completly different! I much more prefer when we call it as a Pinot Gris as the wine will be more suble, elegant and fuller. For me it is more enjoyable. This Pinot Gris Réserve from Alsace by Domaine Fernand Engel @domainefernandengel won't dissapoint you if you are like me! Pinot Gris can produce all kinds of styles and wines with different sugar level, especially from Alsace. Now we are having a dry version with a creamy texture, a pretty delicious example! It has a darker lemon color with silver hue and a medium plus viscosity. The nose is elegant, filled with ripe stone fruits (peach, apricot), lemonpeel, white flowers like acacia and has a light buttery smell. As I mentioned, it is a dry wine with high acidity, medium alcohol and a medium body with creamy texture and flavours of apricots, orange zest, lemon and again this dairy undertone with floral aftertaste in the long finish. A very good quality which drinks well in the next 3-5 years easily when chilled down to 8-10°C. I would love to have a glass next to a cheese platter or pasta carbonara but it is perfect on its own too! Which is your favourite style of Pinot Gris? Or should I say Pinot Grigio? . . . . . . #winewriter #wineculture #wineeducator #winelovers #víno #winesofalsace #alsacewine #pinotgris #weinliebhaber #weißwein #frenchwine #wineprofessionals #wineeducation #sommlife #winelovers #winerecommendation #wineregions #winestudy #sipsaroundtheglobe #winehistory #wineaddiction #wineinfluencer #wineblogger #wineblog #organicwine #wineaddicted #wineknowledge #neverstoptasting #winestyle #womeninwine I Werbung (at Wien, Österreich) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQGdKhUN_P-/?utm_medium=tumblr
