We Have New Review For 3M Indoor Insulator Kit, 5-Window

In early August 2013 a door-to-door Salesman for American Home Exteriors was canvasing our neighborhood and for us, his timing couldn't have been better. We were just wrapping up a kitchen remodeling project we had undertaken ourselves and the only outstanding part were the kitchen and dining room windows.

At first we simply let him in to get a quote with the intention of most likely going with a local contractor later. The salesman did a classic theatrical sales pitch with props and small sample windows. It was all very educational but all the while I remained skeptical. We liked the pitch so much though, that we considered redoing all the windows in our house, a small mid-century home built in 1954. Unfortunately doing the entire house was simply financially out of our reach at this time and we told the salesman “Thanks, but No Thanks.”  All through this the salesman was calm respectful, deferential even. He packed up his goods and we walked him out to his car, and then he reminded us that we still had to deal with our kitchen/dining room windows before winter. So we went back inside and worked up a quote for just those 3 windows. That we could afford, but I was still leery of going with an out-of-town company represented by a door-to-door salesman. With some angst my wife and I agreed to the purchase and installation of the windows.

Within a week the installer was at our house to measure dimensions and within 3 weeks he was back with our custom built windows. Installation of the 3 windows took only 3 hours. When the installers were done, you couldn't even tell that they had been there, with the exception of the awesome new windows. The installers were were courteous, professional and efficient. They took out the old windows and installed the new windows in about an hour each with no damage to the exterior or interior of the house. They cleaned up completely after themselves.

There is a noticeable degree of noise abatement and a reduction in heat transfer into the house from the exterior. The windows significantly cut back on outside noise. Our kitchen and dining room where we had the windows installed is significantly quieter. The days after the installation have been clear, sunny and hot. I can attest that American Home Exteriors windows dramatically reduce the amour of heat transferred via direct sunlight. An unexpected bonus is that the windows are highly reflective on the exterior and as my neighbor noted, he can no longer see into our kitchen through the windows. More privacy. That was an unexpected bonus.

Many homeowners upgrade to energy efficient windows to lower their utility costs for their home. Many times homeowners are disappointed in their savings but sometimes they are pleasantly surprised by not only how much they save but how quickly they see the savings!

When I ordered new windows from American Exteriors, I expected my utility costs would decrease. I was surprised how soon I would see the benefits of the new windows. After the second window was installed; I noticed the house was cooler than normal. I went to the window and did not feel any heat, even though the sun was beating on the window. After the all the windows were installed, the house was so cold I had to adjust the thermostat upwards so I wouldn't get so cold. I was also very impressed with the installers who came to put in my new windows. The first window had a slight scratch, they mentioned it to me they would come back and replace it. Even though I could not see the scratch, and probably few people would; they wanted to make sure it was right. The workers also took the time to do the little things to make sure every window and the sliding door in the kitchen fit perfectly, making sure all the windows was sealed and cleaned all the windows after they were installed. The workers made sure I knew how to open the windows for cleaning, and answered all my questions. The workers were very professional and called both my wife and myself by our first name; which impressed both of us. I would recommend highly getting new windows from American Exteriors; you get an excellent product and the all the people my wife and I have talked to are very knowledge and friendly. I look forward to enjoy my windows in the upcoming months and years.

Many homeowners are skeptical about door to door salesman. Many times it can be a scam which can be scary! American Exteriors does not send salesman door to door but rather Canvassers to meet with homeowners and set up a date for a salesman to come out and meet with them about their possible energy efficient upgrade!

This homeowner was extremely skeptical because she didn’t know if American Exteriors’ product was legitimate. She researched American Exteriors and found she was indeed interested in the product! After a few bumps in the road she ended up a happy customer in the end. She also found that the new energy efficient windows and patio door have added comfort and increased the air quality in her home. Read about her experience below.

Dear American Exteriors,

Originally I was wary of a company that went door to door selling their product because you never know what is legitimate and what is not. I was able to do a little research beforehand and what I found made me interested in their product. I will say that making my decision in a matter of minutes was a little scary but the fact that they gave an actual cost not an estimate for their product was nice to know. They were also able to do the financing that day and they have not one but two options which made my decision easier.

Then we had a few mishaps and struggles, missed and late appointments, then on the day of installation finding out that my three of my windows had not been ordered at all. This made me question my decision. The installer was great about coming out and getting what they had on hand installed, he was polite, efficient and very clean, I had very little dust and/or debris to worry about. Since originally I was told it would be a one day install I had only planned one day off, realistically it is usually a two day install depending on the number of windows and features you choose, due to the ordering error mine took a total of three days for all 12 windows and a patio door. Trust the person taking the measurements they know exactly how long it will take.

Finally my windows were completed; the wrap they do over the sills looks amazing and matches the rest of the exterior perfectly. The difference in the interior has been a pleasant surprise. I can close my house up in the morning when it is cool and return home to a nice comfortable temperature instead of a muggy, stagnant air filled home. That has already made a big difference in the fact that I have not even turned the air on and it has been a very damp spring and we have almost no humidity in the house. Was the experience worth it? I had questioned my decision but once everything was finished I am extremely pleased with my windows and patio door and the already noticeable improvements in the air quality and comfort of my home. I hope that whoever reads this can find the added benefits to the new windows that I have.
