Cabbie would occasionally get PTSD or nightmares from his serving times and Windlifter would help him calm down when it happens :3 (I know ur fics have wind as the one with mental issues etc but it'd probably work w them supporting each other bc they know how much the breakdowns hurt?)

Cabbie does get triggers from certain settings, sounds, or even words. Since he served in the Korean war. I remember reading a fic where Cabbie lost soldiers by dropping them in enemy territory. He would sometimes fear he's gonna lose the smokejumpers, the same way he lost his men in battle.
Windlifter has his fair share of bad experiences and trauma. From a story narrative in a human au there could be perfect amounts of angst.
Just imagine having a nightmare losing men in the war, gunfire, shouting, crying it's all there. And he experiences all over again. Causing him to scream and wake up. Windlifter wakes up too. The veteran holds his head, tears streaming down his face. Windlifter holds him, allowing the old man to cry in his arms. Whispering words of comfort and kisses.

1. Say, hypothetically human Windlifter and Cabbie have a kid. And Cabbie dies, say when the kid is around 5 or 6. And every year, Windlifter and the kid goes to Cabbie’s grave on the anniversary of his death. And Windlifter tells the kid stories about their dad.
2. Another human AU. Windlifter gets into a bad accident during a fire. Causing him to lose alot of blood and a concussion, not to mention some broken bones. So they have to put him in a coma. Everyday Cabbie comes to see him, talking to him, reading a book, and just being there. Holding his hand.. But Windlifter never wakes up.
3. Windlifter has a strained relationship with his parents. Due to his father leaving for a few years to serve in the military. Causing a young Windlifter to step up and help with his family. Including his 3 other siblings (yes I hc he has siblings). Windlifter lost his childhood to help his mom and raise his siblings. Growing spiteful at his father when he came back and was a present father to his siblings. He rarely talks to his family anymore. Receiving a post card once in awhile.
My angst is mostly Cablifter stuff, forgive me the brainrot is strong.
