#wind warning

Extreme Weather warning for Wednesday evening (the timing was WAY off- it started hours sooner than predicted)

Remarks: Very strong southwest winds developed today over southern Vancouver Island in the wake of an unseasonably strong low which moved into the BC interior. Southwest winds with gusts to 90 km/h are still possible early this evening.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.

So my mom called me at one in the morning to let me know that there’s a wind warning for all of Alberta (90km/hr) but “for Pincher Creek especially”. 

So I was like “Lol, wtf? In Pincher Creek especially? What’s that even supposed to mean?” and she sent me this in an email titled Of COURSE it had to be Pincher Creek:

wind warning; Warnings of snow, wind and rain across the UK for New Year

70km/hour! at least it’s a Southeasterly- which is our ‘usual’ wind direction for big storms.  Now I'm grateful i didn’t get out and clean up yesterday’s disaster.

Still here- despite the relentless Westerly Gail that’s been howling and raging all day. The ‘wind-warning’ has ended.. except for Right Here.
