oh no, I do like it, I even have a #wilyegg tag dedicated to them. I just don't talk about them much nowadays because I kinda said all I wanted to say about them back then and nothing else I wanna say has really come to mind since.
they certainly gave off the vibes of being in a relationship the whole time from their closeness and bickering like an old married couple to their 'breakup' and then how they got back together in Worlds Unite. I like how parts of Archie suited my aromantic Eggman headcanon with the way he reacted towards romance and advances in other issues, and also how the Wilyegg stuff suited my headcanon that it's more likely for him to experience a nonromantic attraction after getting to know someone through the enjoyment of working with them/sharing hobbies, the way they support him and his beliefs, and have fun with it because romance isn't his interest and focus.
I like how it was a rare occasion of Eggman forming a closer bond with another in a realistic way for him and how he seemed truly comfortable with it so they got along really well at first. they're very alike in some ways and very different in others, which lead to them butting heads and falling out. it's not the perfect healthy pairing as Eggman eventually goes jealous yandere mode and tries to have Light killed, then when they meet again and he finds out Wily doesn't remember, he manipulates him to pretend it never happened and blames Light. But that's a part of what made it interesting to me and it would make a lot of sense for Eggman to be like that.

what I find funny is that I'm a gay eggfucker but I never use the "Eggy" nickname. if I want to use a shorter name than Eggman, I use Ivo. "Eggy" is pretty affectionate but I just love the name Ivo and how it sounds (ee-vo = evil) and being on a first name basis with him would feel the most special and intimate to me
but the point I'm trying to make here is, if I'm a gay eggfucker that doesn't call him "Eggy", Bowser and Wily are definitely also gay for him for doing so djsndkgsjgkd
