ANYWAYS, got any funky little headcanons from the Little Kyle fic that you’d like to share with the crowd?

As far as headcanons for my Little Kyle fic, I’ll drop some for Stan & Kyle + extras for some of the other more minor characters.
Starting with the boys, I write their relationship quite different than how I normally do. In this fic they’re more “friendly” in the sense that they fight a lot, playfully tease each other, and show familial physical affection naturally like hugging, hands on shoulders, things alike.
Not to say they think of each other as brothers, but more like they have it so ingrained in their heads that neither one can ever truly have shared romantic feelings. Despite the blushing and the occasional nervousness between the two, the dots don’t connect and honestly they’re both just idiots. But they’re still happy.
I really wanted to establish their friendship first because of the context of this fic having to do with a childlike mind, I feel that it’s important that Kyle has someone he can trust to be strictly platonic with him during his moments of regression, which Stan will eventually get the hang of now that he knows what’s going on with him.
I also felt that it was honestly just more fun to read this kind of dynamic because of its playfulness, leading to a lot of moments where like in the fic, the two can argue about lollipops one moment then get a little bit serious in the next, until eventually one says something that makes the other smile. The constant ups and downs really brings out the youth in both of them.
Speaking of, one thing I hc & plan to cover is the fact that although Kyle is going to be relying on Stan for help, the guy’s still a kid himself. It’s a lot of responsibility for a teenager and not one that’s very common. He won’t really have anyone to talk to about it except for Kyle as they continue keeping it a secret. He’s going to have some struggles too. But no worries, this story has a happy ending :)
Another hc I’ll share, which is actually going to be mentioned in the next chapter (uploading soon, I just finished the rough draft today!) is that Kyle needs help with emotional regulation when he regresses. We know he’s already feisty enough, quick to annoy and can be quite mean/difficult at times, but little Kyle is on a whole other level. And by that I mean he can’t actually verbalize what’s wrong, which is going to lead to some interesting dilemmas, sorry Stan.
There was a scene in the Halloween chapter when he bit his lip due to anxiety, which, this is me confirming it now because Kyle won’t in the story, is linked to his regression. On a normal day he might do something similar but never so hard, and to be honest he probably would’ve cried about it the night it happened had Stan not been there. (Tho tbf he was kinda the cause of it lol)
Tiny spoiler for the upcoming chapter: Unbeknownst to him, he’s seeking oral sensory in those moments and would benefit from having something to chew on to calm the anxiety/redirect aggression. I won’t give too much away but the boys will have a conversation about this and reach somewhat of an agreement (topic tbc).
Last thing I’ll add is that these two do not share clothes lol. I made it known in the learning about agere chapter that Stan slept in his costume that night and Kyle was not happy about it haha. Usually I love the hc that they share just about everything, which can still be true in some ways, (like Stan said, he always gives Kyle what’s his) but when it comes to clothing I think it’s a mixture of they do not quite fit, Kyle’s is a little small for Stan and Stan’s is a bit too loose for Kyle, plus they just have different styles & preferences. Unless it were an emergency, then they would give each other the clothes off their backs without hesitation. But only then!
Kyle’s also just picky about his things. He has to share enough with his little brother as it is.
That’s what makes it easy for Stan to be so giving, he’s not cursed by the experience of being an older sibling (I say as the youngest, woops)
Now onto some quick points about the others:
When Kyle is frazzled, Ike likes to act like the voice of reason and although he may seem like the more relaxed, chill brother, he can be a little prick just like any other tween
Kenny hasn’t had that big a role to play yet though I’m sure he will eventually (yes, this is me admitting I have no set plan, we free-styling this). For now tho, he’s just a little guy who avoids stirring the pot and just kinda goes along with whatever the gang decides.
Cartman is not all that nice in this fic, tho normally I give him a frenemy type of relationship with Kyle. This time I’m heading for something more enemy and less friendly though. But he won’t be too much of a bad guy, just a little bit of one lol.
Butters is not really present, my bad! Again, normally I write him in the group but this time I just wanted to keep interactions simple and between the main four when they’re all together. If you wanna know where he is he’s probably hanging out with way better friends than these assholes /lh
