It's a wonderful, if grim fic that reminded me of an old family story, where one of my great-grandmothers lost her parents in similar gruesome fashion during the Philppine-American war.

Day 3 of Temeraire Tracks 2025 is Rarepair. So. So I. You know. I. Okay. You know what I. You understand. This one is actually canon compliant though I prommy there's so much breakup and growing apart but in parallel music here. The fun part is spotting what songs also work for their canonical relationships that don't break up.

The playlist title comes from their last meeting in LoD. "He ought to have been certain of it" is about Woolvey, and "We have made no plans" is about Laurence and Temeraire. And ain't that just the way.

Edith Galman becomes Edith Laurence.

Two years before taking the Amitié, William Laurence was sent home to recover from injuries sustained in the course of duty while the Reliant was repaired from the same action. When Captain Laurence finds himself going into harness with an exceeding rare dragon captured as an egg from a French ship, he is less willing to give her up than he might have been. Had the arrangement been less formal, perhaps he would have been persuaded of the rightness of the action; as it was, he had made his promises to her, just as he had to Temeraire, and Will Laurence is above all a man of his word.
