NEW INFO ON 6B
- Sunday we will get a sneak peek from the episode:
- The first episode of 6b , 6x11 , is calledĀ āSaid the Spider to the Flyā that is inspired on a poem by Mary Howitt.Ā
- Teen Wolf fan accounts on twitter annouced that Tyler Posey said that we will cry with this sneak peek.Ā
Does anyone have a theory? From what I know this poem is a cautionary tale about using charm to hide evil, idk if Iām right. And Will Wallace said in an interview that the villain is awesome.. Any ideas?Ā
Codominance, or Will Wallace Canāt Write
The more I think about it, the more Mr. Wallaceās dismissal of Scottās emotional state illuminates a lot of what I dislike about the writing in the show. Ā To summarize, Mr. Wallace expressed regret that he couldnāt have done more with Stilesā anxiety in the series. Ā When asked about Scottās depression and suicidal tendencies, his response was that he hadnāt given them much thought.
Well, thatās fucking obvious. Ā
Nowhere is it more obvious than in āCodominance,ā where Mr. Wallace systematically reduces Scottās emotions to either a punchline or a prop, take your pick, in order to give his favorite white boy more relevance. Ā I can describe three specific scenes.
Ā We start off the bat with Scott and Stiles working on the jeep, which Stiles canāt even be bothered to stop working on to talk to him, where Scott confesses that heās afraid of Liam.
Scott: You didn't see the way that he came at me. You didn't see the look in his eyes...
Stiles: Well, I've been with you on a full moon, so I've seen that look. [He sighs and closes the hood to the Jeep] You want to get the band back together, Scott? You don't leave out the drummer.
Translation: Ā Your fears are totally unimportant right now, Scott. Ā God, itās not like he beat you to the point of death. Ā Well, maybe he did, and itās not like I am a super huge hypocrite because my fears of being thought a murderer was my primary plot line for the first half of the season. Ā Donāt you understand yet? Ā I get to be afraid, you donāt. Ā Here, let me reinforce my disdain for your emotions with a callous quip. Ā
[I know ā Cue the Chorus: āThatās just how they show love!ā Only Scott never actually gets to āshow loveā by being a snarky asshole.]
Ā Or letās take the supposedly heartfelt scene at the gas pump. Ā
Ā Scott: [sadly] Why didn't you think you could tell me?
Stiles: It was just the way you were looking at me that night. You know, you were standing there with a wrench in your hand, and you're looking at me like I just bashed you in the head with it. You know, like I'd broken your sacred rule and that's it. There's no going back.
Translation: Ā Right and wrong only apply to you, Scott. Ā The only way this friendship works is if I get to blame you for all my insecurities. Ā I may have lied, deceived, and worked with Theo to cover up a killing, but thatās your fault. Ā I mean, itās not like I have any responsibility for my own actions, and fuck you for holding me to any standard whatsoever.Ā Here, have a non-apology which blames you for my mistake.
Ā And finally, Will writes that whole scene where Scott basically gets to declare his Christ-like purpose of taking all the packsā sins on to himself.
Scott: I just always thought that if it were to happen, then it should be me. I'm the one who's constantly putting you guys in danger, risking your lives for people you don't even know. It should've been me.
Translation:Ā Even though I was dragged into this (werewolf, alpha, Protector of Beacon Hills), everything that happens is my fault.Ā Ā Even things that I donāt actually do, like you lying your ass off, Stiles, or Theo sending a chimera to attack your father. Ā Please forgive me.
I totally believe that Will Wallace thinks these were positive steps to repairing the relationship Ā because heās bought into the ideology that Stiles is the weak human (except when heās not) and emotionally fragile (except when heās not) and Scott has an absolute responsibility to be heroically flawless. Ā Stiles deserves forgiveness when he messes up without actually doing anything to change, but Scott better get down on his knees because heās not supposed to make mistakes.
This is what happens when you write one person as a human being and another person as an ideal.
I am over exited š
will wallace saying that lydia realized she loved stiles when she saw her memoriesĀ not since the kiss ,although she saidĀ ā i think i loved himĀ ā in 6x02Ā
and will wallace saying stiles loved m@lia although we donāt have any scene were he says he liked her or loved her .Ā
