Had a question about how my wild rag was tied. This is called a square knot or buckaroo knot. The wild rag is made by Wyoming Wild Rags from hand dyed silk.

Martha was born and raised in Oskaloosa, Kansas only a few hours ride by horseback from the James farm.

Cowboy wild rags, much larger than your usual bandana, usually in silk, and found in both monotone and paisley-patterned finery.  Soldiers and Marines may have neck gaiters but this is how cowboys used to keep their necks warm, even if they had a high-collared coat.
