The Simpsons refers to a series of folk tales from the Late American Imperial Empire. First appearing in the historical cultural era of the 90's, these folks tales were often conveyed through the art form of animation viewed through a television or Smartphone, but comics, merchandise and street art depicting the characters were also created and revered in imperial American life. Thought to have been a representation of idealised American living (the White Picket Fence), while also acting as an exaggeration of its ideals, these tales revolve around a set of characters involved in a dysfunctional nuclear family social dynamic, and the surrounding minor figures from the mythical town of Springfield. These characters were known for their catchphrases and mannerisms that would go on to inform many other "animated sitcoms" in this historical era, such as Family Guy and Rick And Morty. Notable characters include The Bartman (often simply referred to as Bart), a trickster hero and potential idol of teenagers, Homer the "head of the house" (also called husband) known for his laziness, Marge a dutiful housewife and ever-patient mediator to the group, Lisa a mouthpiece of the broader anxieties plaguing the culture and climate of the empire, and the enigmatic and silent Maggie.
The Queen Maud Land incident (Norwegian: Hendelsen i Dronning Maud Land) was an event in which sixteen Norwegian and twelve American researchers died under undetermined circumstances on or around 21 June 1982, south of Thorshavnheiane plateau [nn] in a region of Antarctica claimed by Norway as a dependent territory.
The Norwegian Polar Institute's Thule station and U.S. National Science Institute's station 4, outpost 31 were scheduled to perform meteorological, geological, and microbiological experiments, but both camps were destroyed while overwintering. After several months of radio silence, a joint rescue team was sent in the summer of 1982 - 1983 out of New Zealand. They reported finding all buildings at both camps ransacked and burned. The ground vehicles were fully disassembled and the helicopters appeared to have been blown up with thermite charges.
The body of one Norwegian researcher was discovered at Thule station, apparently having died by suicide with both wrists and his throat slashed with a razor blade. Four more bodies were discovered at outpost 31, and American authorities determined that two had died of hypothermia, one had been shot through the forehead, and one had bled to death after the traumatic removal of both arms. Cremated remains were discovered scattered around both camps but could not be positively identified, nor could they account for all twenty-three missing personnel. Heavy snowfall, strong winds and highly subzero temperatures (-50 – -40 F) are presumed to have rendered their bodies irretrievable.
The United States reopened an investigation into the incident in 2011, concluding in 2012 that one of the researchers at Thule station had suffered a mental breakdown as a result of cabin fever and had killed all of his teammates before flying to outpost 31 and massacring the American team in a multi-day standoff. A blizzard had most likely forced survivors to leave the camp in low-visibility conditions with inadequate clothing before ultimately dying of hypothermia. No criminal charges were ever filed, and the Norwegian government denies all responsibility for the incident while rejecting the American conclusion. The remaining USNSI outposts were subsequently shut down due to lack of funding.
Numerous conspiracy theories have been put forward to account for the unexplained deaths, including yeti attacks, appearance of Nazi UFOs or ball lightning, infrasound-induced panic, a botched spy meeting with representatives of the Eastern bloc, military rocket- and nuclear-testing involvement, or some combination of these factors.

I accidentally stumbled upon the wikipedia page for DC writer Alvin Schwartz, and it's so wild. He wrote Superman and Batman comics in the 40s and 50s, left and became an Ad executive. Then he moved to Canada and became a documentarian. And the wildest thing: in his autobiography, he apparently drops the bombshell that is believes superman is real. A tulpa; a fictional character so admired and beloved that he came to life due to belief in him (or something like that). I think it then said he claimed to have met Superman in real life. But he stayed up in Canada after he moved here, which is really cool to me. And his beliefs are just fascinating.
