Something that drives me up the wall is when a fic will Explicitly Mention something awful Bruce did to Jason that completely fucked with Jason's ability to feel safe with him and then just...? Move on? Do nothing with it? Lalala reconciliation time? I can suspend my disbelief ok. I can pretend it didn't happen if you don't mention it. Why mention it. And then just handwave with a Bruce feels really sorry while also never bringing it up again except its intital one off mention in Jason's thoughts. Can we go back to this. Can we explore how this makes Jason feel. Can we have it acknowledged. Can the getting together happy family scene talk about this clear the air and acknowledge how it was awful and completely fucked with Jason and he's entirely right to be wary?
Everyyy single time there's a specific event mentioned like the batarang or Bruce taking Jason to the place he died or Bruce beating Jason and leaving him bedridden for 3 weeks. and I always perk up like ohh? Focus on Jason and his feelings and his pov and how this was a completely fucked up thing to do? How this made him wary and its entirely justified that he is and the fam working to fix what they may have done and acknowledging Jason does In Fact have reason to think they dont care or want him around?
