I’m still baffled about Marius in 78
RIGHT?? Firstly, I don't understand how he is attractive (that might be the sapphic in me, but his hair sure isn't helping). Second, whose idea was it to take all the worst parts of Marius and use those to construct his character?? And not having the passing of time that happens in the Brick . . . I get that his and Cosette's relationship is insta-love in the Brick, but at least he doesn't ask for her hand in marriage after knowing her for mere days. Imagine the people who watched this movie when it aired in 1978 who had never read the Brick and this was all they knew about Marius' character.
