HX Pop is the new release from Newcastle based Experimental Noise Rock band Waheela. A 3 track trudge through screeching vocals, soaring noise and RIFFS. The opening track starts so viciously and sudden it'll leave you punch drunk and the noise enveloping this track is much like listening to C.C.C.C. in the way it's harsh in nature but sits so comfortably around your mind you're enthralling. The second track induces a mellow state of complacency, much like the more laid back parts of a Tool album, until track three begins building up back into savage, emotional roaring vocal and a revision of the first tracks riff at a doomier pace until racing into a climax and an exit lull that'll leave you broken physically, emotionally and probably deaf in the most enjoyable way possible. Highly recommended.
