1. I lowkey like to think he has basic human organs..but then there’s his two stomachs. Honestly the first one acts like any other stomach, it digests food and yada yada, but the second one is more so a storage tank. If he’s on the run for too long he can hold any left over food there so he doesn’t need to feel like he’s starving. Like a camel’s hump basically

1.5. Adding onto the previous bullet point. He can digest about ANYTHING. Food obviously but whatever he can fit in his mouth? Swallowed whole and NEVER to be seen again. (My au’s Pico learned that the hard way. He had to get a new phone..)

2. Idk this is like corny or something but im a sucker for lab rat characters.

The lab just kinda stuck whatever kind of DNA they had lying around. They’re making a doomsday device they dgaf bout what he’s made up of as long as it does its job. So I like to think Whitty is mostly big cat DNA. Panther, Cheetah being the main ones. Plus the lab created Whitty to be lean and strong..but of course Sarv and Carol had to fuck it up bc he wasn’t lean he was just underweight for someone of his stature. He’s nine feet tall he doesn’t need to be that skinny..

3. Mostly just for funzies, he purrs but it’s very VERY RARE. According to Google, cats purr when they’re content, anxious, or hurt and need to calm themself down. He does that, it’s in his biology atp, but he won’t do it around anyone, unless he has no other choice.

(Example being: He’s hiding an injury and can’t help but purr or make any other sound to try and sooth himself but Ruv picks up the clues a notices)

Remember my theory from yesterday about Whit knowing the truth about his father’s plans for Ironwood and his sisters with him behaving funny all night?

Well here’s an alternative version of that concept. Let’s say…Whitley reunites with his sisters for the first time at their father’s celebratory dinner. However Weiss is the one to notice something rather off about her brother’s behaviour. According to Weiss, Whitley was quieter than usual and seemed rather unwell at the party and she even makes a comment to Whit about his rather sickly demeanour to which he denies.

Let’s say…it’s the first time Weiss has ever seen her brother behave so strangely---at least since their time together back in V4 and even then he didn’t act this oddly reserved.

Let’s say…because Whitley was in so much pain from his “earlier punishment”, he even refused to eat anything at the party---not even to enjoy a plate of his favourite crepes dessert. This action especially throws Weiss off as she’d been low-key observing Whit since she and the others got to the party.

Long story short, Weiss ends up pulling Whitley aside so the two siblings could “catch up”. During this time, Weiss grills Whitley for information on their father---asking if he knew anything. Of course, Whitley tries to act all aloof as he did back in V4 but his bravado fails as he kept suspiciously hugging his chest.

Noticing this, Weiss turns her interrogation on questioning Whitley about himself---how he’s been doing since he’s all alone with Jacques.

This question seems to somewhat trigger Whitley as he responds in anger; lambasting Weiss for daring to ask him such a thing since, from Whitley’s perspective, she’s never once cared about him in the sixteen years he’s been alive (I’d like to think that Whit is closer to Ruby’s age than Oscar’s).

Weiss flinches at this accusation. She then switches to a more sympathetic tone of voice. Whitley goes to storm off but Weiss immediately reaches out and grabs his arm, stopping him. Gently, Weiss reveals her suspicions to Whitley about her father being up to something that could result in no-good for everyone; especially Mama Schnee and even Whit who were still with Jacques.

In the end, Weiss expresses her worry for the fate of their family. Her worry for their mother. Her worry for Whitley. Basically it ends in Weiss practically begging Whitley for his help. She knows she hasn’t always been the ‘best big sister’ to him or even the warmest person in general. However Weiss has changed a lot since Whitley last saw her; growing even more into a kind-hearted person.

As I said, in this version of my headcanon, just as how Snow White begged the Huntsmen sent to kill her by the Wicked Queen to spare her life---Weiss asks Whitley to help her with unveiling whatever wicked scheme she feared their father was planning. And just like the Huntsman from the fairy-tale, Whitley does help Weiss. But not before collapsing before her, finally succumbing to her injuries.

Previously, I’ve heard one or two RWBY theorists---inclusive of RWBY Youtuber: EruptionFang theorize that Whitley has secretly been abused by Jacques for years without his sisters’ knowledge. An intriguing theory and while I’m unsure if we’ll see it rationalized into the canon, I’m going to add my own spin on that longstanding Whit theory.

Basically Whitley collapses before Weiss complaining of pain in his chest. Immediately…Weiss reacts to help her brother but as Weiss inspects Whitley, to her dismay, she is stunned to discover several bruises across his chest and abdomen including an open slash across his stomach that was being held together by several sloppily tied bandages which were now soaked in a bit of blood.

Let’s say…Weiss asks Klein to bring Jaune but advises him to be discreet as a means of not attracting the attention of their father. So Klein brings Jaune to Weiss and with her permission, Jaune uses his semblance to heal Whitley.

All the while, Weiss stayed by Whitley’s side, cradling his unconscious body. Even Klein is horrified to see the state of the “young master”. Weiss then questioned Klein if he knew about what happened to Whitley only for Klein to sadly inform Weiss that since her departure, Jacques hasn’t allowed him to set foot near Whitley; designating him to other duties while Jacques himself saw to Whit’s development.

Let’s say…while healing Whitley, Jaune discovers other injuries on his body---ones that weren’t recent and seemed to have been healing for months. Thus indicating to Weiss the truth of what he brother had been going through since she left.

Eventually in a nutshell, Whitley regains consciousness and from here, he proceeds to help Weiss by firstly warning her of what Jacques was truly up to. But…not before one small exchange of dialogue.

Whitley: What… happened to me?

Weiss: You passed out but don’t worry; Jaune is going to take good care of you.

Whitley: …Who…is Jaune?

Weiss: He’s a friend of mine so you’re in great hands.

Whitley: Another…huntsman? A huntsman saved my life? Well…that’s annoying!

Jaune: Wow. He really is your brother.

 This doesn’t have to happen but…I think this could’ve been a cute way to show that Whit is more like his sister than she realized. Not to mention, it’s a cheeky call back to both V4 and V5. The irony of Whitley saying huntsmen were “barbaric” and “beneath people like him and his father”; only for his snooty ass to be saved by one. Such poetic satire.

Anyways, if something like this were to somehow happen in the canon for the new episode, I want a few things to come out of it:

Similar to how Weiss finally addressed her team as her family in front of her father, I think it’d be pretty sweet for Weiss to acknowledge Jaune as her friend in front of another family member of hers like Whitley.

As much as I like White Knight as a ship, I don’t necessarily need them to end up together romantically. For now, this squiggle meister is more interested in Weiss and Jaune have a solid friendship built on mutual trust and knowing each other better than they ever did in the past.

After all, we all know how big of a rocky start these two had in the beginning. This is why I’m excited for the Dinner Party setting. To me, RWBY V7CH8 is a chance for the CRWBY to make a parallel to RWBY V2CH7: Dance, Dance Infiltration.

If I recall correctly, Jaune never got the opportunity to tell Weiss what he truly thought about her. Personally I’d like for this small plot point to be revisited. As a matter of fact, since we got May Marigold, I’m kind of banking on Henry Marigold making a comeback too. I know some folks think that May might be a sex-changed Henry and while I myself did ponder that a bit too, I’m more leaning towards the more simpler idea that Henry and May are just related. Probably siblings or cousins.

Speaking of, I have a feeling like CH8 will also harken back to the V4 episode where Henry made his debut. My hunch is that Henry and his family will also be invited to Jacques’ Dinner again. Perhaps the Marigolds are a Council Family with one of Henry and May’s close relatives holding a seat on the Atlesian Council. I like the idea of May coming from a family who help govern the Kingdom of Atlas yet she instead chooses to use her influence to work with the representative of Mantle for the betterment of Mantle. Now that could be a cool detail for May.

Anyways, as I was saying, Henry returns in CH8 and he and Weiss meet again for the first time since V4. However, unlike like last time, Henry isn’t as gentlemanly with Weiss. As a matter of fact, he’s a complete asshat to her.

Let’s say, Henry harasses Weiss at the dinner which then leads into two things: 

Firstly, Jaune, to Weiss’ surprise, coming to her defence against Henry and secondly, May showing up to put a lid on her baby brother.

May then makes Henry apologize to Weiss before dragging him off by the ear back to their family table for daring to disrespect a woman (especially when his sister was nearby). Currently there’s a wee bit of tension between our heroes and the Happy Huntresses given how things went down at Robyn’s Watch Party. Not to mention that of all the Huntresses, May has somewhat been the most seemingly aggressive one.

So it’d be kind of sweet if we got a scene where has a gentler side; more understanding side to her that isn’t as hardened. Who knows? Perhaps that’s why she became a huntress in the first place and joined up with Robyn? Maybe May comes from a family where as a woman, she felt disrespected because she often treated as if she wasn’t tough enough to go toe-to-toe with the men of her family. That was part of her motive for becaming a huntress---to prove to all who doubted her strength that they clearly misjudged her…or something like that. Mostly speculating here.

Anyways, after a scene like this, Jaune stays in Weiss’ company and the two actually have a pretty decent chat in which Jaune confesses how he really thinks of Weiss. It’s not meant to be interpreted as romantic but more as a step in the right direction of Jaune and Weiss becoming legit good friends.

Who knows? Maybe we might even get a little nod back to their untold movie lime with Oscar with the two sharing a laugh over that night’s crazy shenanigans with a possible promise to do it again; even if it’s just the two of them this time. As friends, of course.

I dunno. I just really, really would like to see Jaune and Weiss alone together, talking as friends since we’ve honestly never gotten that with the two of them. It could be a wholesome thing but this is just my opinion.

A theory like this can also show Weiss showing concern for Whitley. In the past, the impression I got from Weiss’ interactions with her brother was that Whit seemed more like an annoyance to Weiss…or rather he was someone she clearly didn’t trust most likely due to his similarities to their father in terms of appearance. So basically Weiss believed that Whitley was going to turn out more like Jacques. It wouldn’t surprise me if Weiss and Whit used to be close when they were toddlers until Jacques started grooming Whit to be more like him.

I think CH8 could be a good chance to touch a bit more on Weiss’ relationship with her brother, as well as Mama Schnee.

Again, as much as I like the Schnee-sisters’ dynamic---I’ve frankly seen enough of their interactions to gage their bond. Basically, I get it. Weiss and Winter are close.

The same can be said for Weiss and Jacques. Yes, I get that too! Weiss suffered a very overwrought relationship with her father due to his ways for most of her life.

This has been Weiss’ song and dance since her first character trailer. Basically what I’m trying to say here is that I hope that CH8 highlights Weiss focusing not on her sister and father but on her relationship with her mother and brother for a nice change. Even more interesting if all of that is tied in with the narrative of the episode fleshing out her budding friendship with Jaune. Maybe?

I understand some folks are probably banking on this dinner being all about our young heroes being little fishes out of water attending their first cordial party at Schnee Manor. However for this squiggle meister, I’m more looking forward to the conversations, man. 

I think this season has been building up to a few much needed chats between certain characters or certain groups of characters and I’d like to think that a more seemingly “relaxed” atmosphere could be provide the perfect setting to jumpstart some of those longstanding conversations. For CH8, I’m expecting the following interactions to be focal point of the episode:

Ironwood talking to Jacques Weiss talking to Willow (Mama Schnee) Weiss talking to Whitley Weiss talking to Jaune  (possibly) 

Blake and Yang talking to Robyn (I have a feeling she’s going to be at the dinner too so there’s that follow up from CH7) Ren talking to Nora (because for Pete’s sake,  that NEEDS to happen at this point, for REAL)

And last but certainly not least, Oscar talking to Ruby (because that also needs to happen at this point too. I haven’t forgotten V7CH3).

I know that CH8 is only 15:37 mins long. Nevertheless, V2CH7 (the OG dance party episode) was 15:05 mins long and that episode managed to pull off a lot in a surprisingly short space of time. 

So you could say I have full faith that we can get a lot of really great character interactions for this upcoming new episode.

But y’know this is only me. Hears to hopefully getting my wish with that. At least for the Weiss and Whitley part of it. 

If we’re lucky, Oscar would be attending the election Watch Party up in Atlas with JNR_RWBY and would just so happen to bump into Whit who just so happened to be attending the Watch Party too on behalf of his father just to promote his campaign at the school or something—I dunno. Just a crumb of interaction would’ve sufficed. 

However, as I said, I’m not sure if these two will ever meet at all. At least notfor V7. I’m still waiting to see what either of their roles will be like for this volume.

I have a sinking suspicion that Whitley will be the one to reveal to Weiss about how their mother has been really doing since she departed. Who knows? Perhaps…he might even allow her back into their home to see her while Jacques is away on business (or rendezvousing with Watts). 

I say this since I don’t think Klein is around anymore. I’m starting to wonder if he was unceremoniously let go after it was discovered that he helped Weiss escape. It was odd not seeing him at Schnee Manor, even when Watts came to visit Jacques. Then again the PLOT hasn’t visited the Manor much for this season outside of the end of CH4. I wonder if we will get more on that as we move into the political subplot for the season.

Since Jacques sparked quite an uproar in Mantle, I’m intrigued at how that’s going to be played out next episode. I’d like to imagine that part of the reason our young heroes were ultimately granted a night off was due to them needing one after working possibly double time to deal with all the ruckus bringing forththe Grimm that was caused by the People of Mantle revolting against the General and Atlas after what Jacques caused.

It wouldn’t surprise me if more Grimm start invading the city due to all the risingnegativity at the city in the clouds, thanks to the Ice King himself.

The start of V7 and the narrative that follows afterwards surrounding Jacques, General Ironwood and even Robyn Hill and her Happy Huntresses should be more than fascinating to watch play out. I can’t wait. 

But going back to Whit, I really feel like Whitley’s role for this season will be delegated to outing Jacques on his underhanded cooperation with Watts.

I feel as we’re going to get Whitley snooping around on his father and Watts.

Oh! Do you know what would actually be pretty darn cool?

What if…Whitley allows Weiss back into Schnee Manor when she shows up to visit their mother who, as we remember, was told to not be doing so well since Weiss’ departure. While checking in on her mom, Whitley invites Weiss to show her something and it’s basically a scenario where Whitley reveals to Weiss another secret passageway within Schnee Manor that leads into a hidden area overlooking Jacques’ office where Whitley and Weiss could spy in on their father.

Let’s say…Whit wants to tell Weiss about what his father had been doing to win the elections. However since he’s also aware that his sister might not believe him, he decides a better way to prove himself is by showing her the truth. So basically Weiss and Whitley end up spying in on Jacques just when Arthur Watts pays him another visit. Maybe Tyrian Callows tags along with Watts this time?

Now here’s the thing with this. Weiss doesn’t know who Tyrian is. The only person on Team RWBY aware of Tyrian is Ruby. So as an alternative to this theory of mine, let’s say:

Weiss returns home to see her mother. Ruby tags along with for morale support. Unfortunately the security at Schnee Manor deny Weiss access even if it was to see her mother, thanks to Jacques giving them strict orders to. Fortunately for Weiss, she reunites with good ole Klein who helps her and Ruby sneak into the manor to see Mama Schnee. 

In her mother’s room, Weiss discovers her mother passed out drunk but sleeping more or less soundly. As it turns out her fears were proven right as her mother looks ill and let’s say her room is a mess, littered with empty wine bottles and glasses as a sign of several alcoholic episodes. This upsets Weiss dearly at seeing her mother in such a state. Luckily her best friend Ruby is there to comfort her.

Weiss then goes to wake her mother up to show that she is still there for her. Unfortunately Weiss’ time with her mother is cut short as Klein comes in to warn the girls that they needed to now leave since Jacques had returned home and security was coming down the hallway.

Weiss and Ruby leave just as Mama Schnee opened her eyes to an emptydark room, missing seeing her beloved daughter again by a millisecond.

Similar to how Klein assisted Weiss with the passageway that led straight out of the manor, he attempts to use the same one from V4 to provide Weiss and Ruby a means of escape. However they are forced to make a detour since the room with the passageway is used or something. Klein is then forced to leave the girls on their own when he’s called away by Jacques.

Long story short, Weiss and Ruby Scooby-Doo their way around Schnee Manor, avoiding as much encounters with security and staff as they could. Eventually their hide and seek results in them stumbling upon another hidden passageway that takes them to the secret hiding spot I described before overseeing Jacques’ office.

From here, Ruby and Weiss listen in on Jacques once again scheming with Watts. Tyrian happens to be there as well and Ruby immediately recognizes him; informing Weiss that the Scorpion Faunus was bad news since he was the one who poisoned Qrow and attacked her and JNR back in Mistral. Thus meaning that Weiss’ father was getting himself roped in with people who work for Salem!

While Weiss and Ruby are processing this revelation, let’s say…that they are caught by Whitley who knew about the passageway since he used it to spy in on Jacques. Whitley has an opportunity to rat Weiss and Ruby out to the in-house security or worse Jacques and his associates. But rather than do that, Whitley does the last thing Weiss expected him to do for her—help her.

With Whit’s help, Ruby and Weiss are able to make their way back toKlein and eventually out of Schnee Manor undetected.

One of my Whit-ty headcanons for Whitley is that he will redeem himself, at least in the eyes of Weiss by helping her in some shape or form. 

My rationale for this is because I strongly believe that Whitley will be the Huntsman (ironically) in Weiss’ Snow White story. 

In the original fairy-tale, the Huntsman was sent to kill Snow White by the Wicked Queen but instead the Huntsman took pity on her and allowed her to go free into the forest where she eventually met the Seven Dwarves.

The assumption here in that Whitley is meant to be exactly like Jacques and thus act as an antagonist to Weiss in some way, right? However I still wish to hold out on the concept of Whitley proving himself to be trusted in the eyes of Weiss, finally opening the door for the potential of these two sharing an actual good relationship.

While all the sisterly moments between Weiss and Winter for this season have been nice, it still bothers me how nonchalant Weiss and Winter are with continuing to wholeheartedly support each other while still leaving their little brother in the dark in the hands of their father; the thought of extending that olivebranch to him still crossing neither of their minds even now. Like…really?

Who knows. Maybe if we do get a moment of Whitley helping Weiss, it may spark the thought of her reaching out to Whit. Perhaps…we can finally have some backstory for these two for once. Again, all the stuff between Weiss and Winter is cool and all that jazz. However this squiggle meister is more intrigued to learn what Weiss’ story with her brother is all about, y’know what I mean?

As for Whitley’s semblance, I’m more inclined with the theory that Whitley possesses the same hereditary Glyph semblance that all Schnees possess since he is a Schnee. 

Regardless of how much the PLOT wishes to have me believe that Whit is exactly like his father, I wish to stand by the thought that he is more like his sisters than he realizes. 

Whitley is a Schnee so if he’s to have a semblance, I want it to be Glyphs. I want to see Whit have his own summon and long ago, I pegged Whit’s choice of summon would be a Geist Grimm he accidentally killed after it attacked him and Klein at the Manor.

Then Whit ends up being haunted by said Geist since he couldn’t control it. Whitley awakening his semblance and needing help to control his powers could be a potential way for him to bond with his sisters. 

Imagine Weiss and Winter coming together to help their brother understand what he’s going through with his gift. Imagine Whit becoming conflicted by this since his powers give him a connection to his sisters and an actual good relationship with them (which I still believe is what Whitley wants above anything else) however at the same time, he is torn by his loyalty to their father.

This could’ve been a great subplot to flesh out Whit as a character.Buuuuuuuuuuuut….this is only just me and my headcanons. Whitley’s true purpose in the PLOT; I shall leave that to the CRWBY Writers to reveal. In the meantime. I’ll just have my own ideas.

I do like your idea for Whit’s semblance though, Crystal. Basically your idea is for Whit t have a foresight type of semblance; similar to how Maria’s Reflex semblance operates in a sense, right? 

Either way, I can dig that. However, like I said, my top choice for Whit’s semblance is dem Glyphs. I want my boy to be the Schnee that he is, dagnabbit!  But we shall see how that goes as the volume unfolds.

 In the beginning, my main headcanon for Whitley was that once upon a time, he and Weiss actually used to get along when they were much younger until an incident involving their father caused them to drift apart. In more recent times, I’ve started leaning more towards the idea that from the moment he was born, Whitley has had a somewhat strained relationship with Weiss that had very little to do with him and more with Weiss’s perception of him due to how he was treated by their father.

My idea was that since Whitley was the only boy child, he was often given more special treatment by Jacques than his sisters. Yes I know that one of the main theories for Whitley is that he’s secretly being abuse by his father. While I personally am still holding onto that theory too, this is not the topic of my headcanon.

The idea I had in mine is that Whitley was always treated better by Jacques than his sisters. In the sense that Jacques rarely got as angry or as malicious with Whitley as he did with Weiss and Winter. Perhaps Whitley was the spoiled one of the three siblings and since he was always placed on a higher pedestal than his sisters in a sense, this caused Winter and Weiss to look at Whitley differently and have a poor perception of him. 

The spoiled apple of the bunch that didn’t fall too far from the tree---rotten to the core. 

The idea I had is that since their father always favoured Whitley more than her, this caused Weiss to always think poorly of her brother to the point that any gesture that Whitley made to get close to his sister was always met with coldness and annoyance.

To me I’m picturing a moment where a young Weiss is probably playing with a toy. She looks like she’s having fun and her excitement encourages Whitley to want to play with her. So Whitley wants to play with the toy with Weiss however Weiss isn’t too keen on playing with Whitley. So she tells Whitley she doesn’t want to play with him. This upsets Whitley. He cries and Whitley’s outcries results in Weiss getting in trouble because of Whitley. Weiss is sent to her room on punishment leaving poor Whitley alone with the toy. 

Perhaps Klein is there to play with the toy with Whitley. However Whitley is disinterested in playing with toy since his objective wasn’t to play with it alone or even with Klein. He wanted to spend some time with his sister. But as always, she didn’t want anything to do with him.

This is how I pictured Weiss and Whitley’s relationship. Years of Whitley reaching out to grow close to his big sister only to be given the cold shoulder with every attempt. Weiss would always close the door in on Whitley, no matter how many times he tried and no matter how many attempts he made to show her that his kindness is genuine.

My theory is that because Whitley is such a ‘daddy’s boy’, Weiss probably sees him exactly like their father. Manipulative. Cruel and insincere. As I rightfully phrased it, rotten to the core, right?

And because she has this perceived idea of her brother, Weiss has always treated him that way. The only time she let her guard down was in V4 and…admittedly, I still think the events leading up to Weiss thinking Whitley had betrayed her were…odd.

I am a Whit, not just cause I’ve learned to like Whitley due to finding his character mildly fascinating. But in all honestly, I think Whitley doesn’t deserve ANY of the hate he gets from the FNDM since he literally did NOTHING wrong. 

He didn’t cause Jacques to punish Weiss yet she accused him of it anyways. And like a fool, Whitley didn’t even attempt to deny the claims against him.

It was…so awkwardly done that I’m sorry. I just don’t think Whitley is a bad person. This is why I’m an advocate for Whitley being the Nebula to Weiss’ Gamora.

He just wants his sisters to love him the same way they love each other. They’re always leaving him behind and for Whitley’s sake, I hope V7 actually spends some time developing him and showing more of his past with Weiss instead of pulling the usual thing of only focusing on Weiss and Winter’s relationship.

I get it. Weiss and Winter are sisters. They looked out for each other. Winter looked out for Weiss and supported her. She’s her closest family member. Yada! Yada! I GET IT!

So much that I’m actually bored with the Weiss and Winter’s dynamic since every material with Weiss focuses on her relationship with her Winter as a plot point.

Is it so bad that I’d love to learn more about what her past was like with Whitley? Is it so bad that I want V7 to focus more on Weiss and Whitley while Winter and Weiss take a backseat for a chang?

 As a matter of fact, can I get both sisters learning to care for their little brother? Can I get that CRWBY?

I still believe that the negative impression Weiss has of her brother isn’t true. Whitley is the black sheep of the Schnee Siblings. The one always left behind and in the dark by his sisters.

But I’d love to think that Whitley is no different than his sisters. This is why I dig my headcanon of Whitley awakening his family’s semblance but using it on behalf of his father’s evil deeds.

 I like the irony of Whitley believing that being a huntsman is barbaric but using his family power to dish out crime for his father isn’t. I think that could be an interesting twist for Whit and a cool way for Weiss to get invested in his well-being. Just as how Jacques used Weiss before, I like the idea of him using Whitley too. Using him for his power since he’s the only Schnee child with Nick’s amazing semblance that he can control.

I really dig this idea for Whitley’s story and would love to see something like it for V7. But alas…only time will tell.

As for the connection between Whit and Spinel. I just can’t shake this imagined scene in my head where Whit used to be like Spinel in a way. Growing up, all he ever wanted was to be friends with Weiss. He wanted her to love him. Or at least like him. But Weiss would always push him away. So much so that the more Whit tried to be close to her, the further she’d drift away from him.

Till one day, she was gone. She had left him to go to Beacon. To start a whole new life away from him without him. To make new friends and learn to love them in a way she never loved him. And she’d be occasionally watched over by Winter. The other sister who had left Whitley behind.They’d still be together while Whitley is just...left behind as always.

Isn’t that lovely? Isn’t that cool and isn’t that cruel and wouldn’t that make Whitley a fool for happily waiting…happily stayed. Happily watched his sisters drift away and leave him behind in the cold, like always.

I don’t blame Whit for staying close to Jacques. Poor kid probably feels abandoned by all the women in his life. Makes me pray that Whit is close with Klein at least and it’s Klein who spills the beans to Weiss on poor Whit and what Jacques forces him to do with his powers if my headcanon is true. But eyyy…we’ll see I guess.

“…By the way, I actually do know that the Summons are the creatures that the Schnees with the Glyph semblance had defeated in combat. In my original draft of this musing, I’d included a point painting a scenario where perhaps Whitley was attacked by a Geist Grimm during his sisters’ absence and him defeating the beast was as a result of him unexpectedly unlocking his semblance in the heat of battle in order to protect himself.

I didn’t include this hunch in the final draft but that’s how I saw the tie in with my theory about Whitley’s summon being a Geist.

 Imagine…one night, Whitley is left alone inside the Schnee Manor. His parents had gone out for the night on their own endeavours and Whitley is left to himself with only Klein around in case he needed anything. Perhaps this is a night where Whitley decides to entertain himself by practicing his pianist skills.

In V4, it was hinted that Whitley might know how to play the piano. We never actually witnessed him doing so, which was a wasted opportunity however his picture is hung up inside the music room inside the mansion.

So the implication is there. It’s sad. I wish they had taken advantage of Whitley’s own musical talents. If Whitley does know how to play then I wish we’d gotten a scene of him helping Weiss with her recital.

It would’ve been an amazing brother and sister bonding moment if Weiss is there singing her sweet swan song as Whitley’s fingers danced across the keyboard in coordination with his sister; casting their collaborated melodic spell over the audience. If only; am I right?

Anyways, just as Whitley is getting into the song, he hears a sudden strange noise from outside the music room. At first the young boy ignores the noise but when it became too prominent, he was forced to vacate in order to investigate it. Whitley’s search for the source of the disturbance brought him outside the house in the garden. He calls for Klein, thinking it may be the chubby man just tending to the bushes. No answer and it is at this point, Whitley was growing annoyed.

Long story short, Whitley finds Klein passed out in the gardens after being attacked by a Geist Grimm. In all the stories he’s heard of the Grimm, this is Whitley’s first encounter with one. With all his boosting about the benefits of the Atlesian Army, he never dreamt that he’d ever need to protect himself against a Grimm on his own, much less meet one in the flesh.

For the first time in his life, Whitley’s mind blanked. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t even breath. He had no means of protecting himself and with Klein passed out before him and everyone else in the manor gone, he was alone. No one was going to come to his aid.

He thought…of his sisters. Let’s say, when the Schnee siblings were younger—back in the days when there were good moments that displayed all three siblings actually caring about each other, Weiss and Winter were both protective of Whitley. Particularly Weiss.

Whenever he fell down, got a boo-boo or even just had a bad dream, his big sister Weiss was always there for him to be his comforter. Yeah, yeah, I know this sounds very uncharacteristic for Weiss and her relationship with her brother but let me have this one, alright?

I just need a reason—a deep, significant reason for Whitley to think of both of his sisters, or maybe just Weiss while being attacked by a Grimm—the thought resonating with such force that it’s enough for Whitley to unconsciously call out for Weiss to protect him…all the while awakening something else within him he didn’t know was there.

When Klein finally came to, he awakens to discover Whitley huddled in a corner of the garden, his breathing frantic as his body did its best to contain his fear. As Klein swiftly ran to the boy’s age, he arrived just in time to witness the Geist from earlier wither away. The infernal red eye of its cryptic mask imprinting a lasting effect in Whitley’s mind as it disappeared from his sight. Klein did not know what to make of this scene. He tried asking Whitley to explain what had happened after he’d passed out—how he managed to defeat the Geist on his own.

Instead of giving him an answer, Whitley silenced his erratic breathing and turned the question on Klein, asking him if he was alright. Once Klein confirmed that he wasn’t injured in any way, Whitley withdrew an unsteady sigh of relief before getting to his feet.

Shakily, Whitley left the garden and returned to the quiet solitude of the music room without another word to Klein. Even when the man returned shortly later with some refreshments for the young heir, the young Schnee said nothing more to him even as he stared him down in concern. Finally, then and there, Whitley gave Klein an answer but, not the one he was hoping for. Whitley told Klein to not speak of this moment to his father. He made some other point about discussing increasing security in the household to his father but beyond that, it became clear to Klein that Whitley was adamant on not discussing his feelings on the ‘grimm incident’ any further or at all for the future for that matter.

So with nod of understanding, Klein bowed himself out of the room; leaving Whitley to himself once more. 

Taking a long swig from the warm beverage Klein had brought to him; Whitley returned his attention to the piano. With his fingers to the keys, he gave a strong intro to his chosen musical piece only to miss a note and stop abruptly again.

Whitley clutched his head, grimacing as the face of the beast—the Geist flashed across his mind. Why? He was used to putting things far out of his mind. Jacques Schnee had properly schooled him on the importance of that. Yet…why did that creature still…haunt him? What was that strange…power he display earlier? Where did it come from? Why did he have it? And more importantly, what did that mean for Whitley then?

In spite of the pressing questions swarming his mind, Whitley couldn’t think of any logical reasons as to why this was happening to him. Nor…did he care to entertain the thought much further.

So for the third time, Whitley returned to the keyboard and started playing. And for the remainder of the night, he kept on playing, allowing the music to drown away any fear left following the encounter…even as the Beast’s watchful eye continued to scrutinize him from within the chained chambers of his mind. 

That’s how I’d like to see it. Just a theory but an interesting one to think about, right…”

Back then, the concept I had was if Whitley were to unlock his powers unintentionally, he’d be in complete denial of it to the point of trying to supress his powers. You know how in Disney’s Frozen, Elsa spent most of her life keeping her powers a secret from her sister Anna while doing her best to keep them under control. Y’know ‘Conceal, don’t feel. Don’t let them know’. That’s how I pictured it being for Whitley. Let’s say, for most of his life, Whitley was  raised believing that he wasn’t special ; at least not in the way his sisters were as told by Jacques.

Since the Schnee name and semblance came from Mama Schnee’s side of the family, let’s say Mama Schnee possesses the same kind of power as her daughters but never utilized her gifts since being a huntress was never in her lifelong goals she had set for herself. What if…growing up, Whitley was sort of brainwashed into believing that he had no power. That he was never ever going to amount to anything else in life unless he followed directly in his father’s footsteps since, according to Jacques, Whitley was his prodigy. The one who was born exactly like him. Powerless but cunning.

Imagine a flashback where a young Whitley is secretly observing his sisters training in their courtyard from afar. What if…once upon a time, Whitley was enamoured by the powers his sisters possessed and wished to perform the same feats as them; being inspired and growing excited to awaken his own kind of powers since he had overheard Winter inform Weiss that the power they have was one shared by all the Schnees. This gave Whitley the hope of him possibly awakening own powers someday.

Imagine Whitley being excited by the prospect of unlocking his family semblance since, in his naïve mind, his semblance was the ticket to growing close with his sisters. Picture a young Whit standing in the mirror or playing alone in the garden trying to unlock his own powers like Weiss and Winter.

Whitley is then caught by Jacques who scolds him for even entertaining the idea of the Schnee semblance. Out of curiosity, Whitley asks his father if he had powers like his sisters only for Jacques to burst his bubble by saying that Whitley wasn’t special. He has no power. Jacques told Whitley that he should never look to his sisters for acceptance and support because they would never look at him on a similar playing field. 

What if…that whole ‘the Schnee abilities is beneath him’ notion was probed into Whitley from a young age by Jacques because he made Whitley believe that he had no power. Imagine if from young, Jacques groomed Whitley into thinking that his only place and purpose in the world is by Jacques side as his heir since of all his children, Jacques expected Whitley to be just like him and ensured that he thought that way about himself. This is why I’m very much invested the headcanon of Whitley unlocking his family semblance too.

Up until this point, Whitley has sort of convinced---or even prided himself on being exactly like father since the assumption being made here is that Jacques has groomed Whitley to believe that his power---his own family power---is nothing more than barbaric and beneath him. So imagine how Whit would feel if he did have power. How would he take it?

For me, I’m seeing this storyline going one of two ways for Whit:

On one side, you get the concept of Whitley unintentionally unlocking his powers but choosing to keep them suppressed and hidden from his father out of his denial of his heritage and his loyalty to Jacques. This ultimately results in Whitley losing control of his powers and unleashing the beast that lives to do his bidding. His summon. I loved this original theory because I really liked the idea of there being a mystery where a monster has been attacking adversaries to the SDC and the Schnee Family. Upon further investigations by our team of young huntsmen, it is learnt that the monster is actually a Grimm summoned by Whitley that’s been doing his bidding all along. However Whitley is unaware of this because he has no control over his semblance nor his summon. But it’s through the aid of his sisters that Whit learns to finally accept and control his newfound abilities. That’s one idea.

On the next side is my current favourite Whit-ty headcanon where Whitley is enrolled at Atlas Academy by Jacques as a means of spying Weiss and possibly sabotage any progress she was attempting to make at the academy as a ploy set up by Jacques to spite his own daughter and get her to return home to her cage under his watch. I still like the idea of Whit being the huntsman in Weiss’ Snow White story. However unbeknownst to his father, Whitley had his own ulterior motive for pursuing huntsmen training. Part of it was due to his own curiosity and an eagerness to understand why his sisters would stray from their family to pursue such a barbaric lifestyle. The main reason was Whitley genuinely wanting to use the opportunity to try and develop a relationship with his sister. I know Whitley becoming a huntsman as a means of trying to develop a genuine friendship with his sister sounds a little farfetched. However I personally like it since Whit strikes me as the type of character who commits to certain things out of a willingness to understand.

Like he strikes me as the type of person where if you told him that you liked chocolate ice-cream and thing it was the best  flavour of ice-cream in the whole wide world, Whit would try and even study everything he could dig up on the flavour himself as a way of understanding why you would like it especially if he was only doing it as a means of trying to comprehend you as a means of growing closer to you. It’s a different outlook on Whit but that’s how I see him.

So Whitley starts training to become a huntsman so he could understand first and foremost why his sisters chose this lifestyle and it is through his adventures at the academy where Whit slowly achieves what he’s always wanted---to be close with his sister. To have her look at him as someone she could trust or at least like. By my head-canons, what Whitley truly wants are his sisters. To have them both trust and finally look at him as family.

As someone meant to stand by their side instead of being left behind alone in the cold.

Growing up in Schnee Manor, Weiss had Winter (as implied by her anthology). It may seem as if the Schnee sisters have always had each other’s backs while leaving poor Whit in the dark. My assumption is that Whit had wanted Weiss to support him similar to how Winter supported her or at least look at him as someone she can trust and count on. But unfortunately for Whit, this never happened due to several misunderstandings from Weiss about her own brother. Right now, Weiss’s interpretation of Whitley is something shared with the FNDM members who distrust and heavily dislike him as a character.

For whatever reason (not properly justified in the main series canon), Weiss sees Whit as someone akin to their father. Heck she probably sees him as being a complete copycat or mini me of Jacques. I think this is what has kept Weiss and Whit from developing an actual relationship. Weiss’ impression that her brother will only turn out like their father. Manipulative. Conniving. But that’s not who Whitley truly is; at least not by my assumptions and by the power invested in my headcanons, I believe that Whit desires more than anything to prove this to his sister.

I swear if Whitley’s endgame isn’t him having a healthy close family relationship with his sisters then I’d be deeply disappointed. But that’s mostly what I’d love to see going forward into V7 with the Schnee Family Affairs side of the arc.

As for what kind of summon Whitley would have, I actually really like your idea Ez. You wanna know something funny? I pretty much had a similar thought. I think it would be very fitting if Whitley’s signature summon has a more feminine look to it for the very same reasons you gave.

In this case, Whit would be the opposite of Weiss. With the exception of Klein, you can almost say that Weiss hasn’t exactly had the best support from the men in her life. As a matter of fact, one of the most oppressive figures in Weiss’ story is her own father so the fact that her summon is an armoured knight meant to serve and protect her is very symbolic. Weiss was oppressed by a male figure yet her key summon (outside of the Queen Wasp) is a rather masculine-looking suit of armour.

This is why I’m saying it’d be the opposite for Whitley. While Weiss was more or less disgraced by the main men in her life, for the most part, Whit was disgraced by the man women in his life. His mother is practically non-existent and his sisters have left him alone while standing by each other only. So Whitley having a female summon to serve as the Queen protecting her King would be excellent. I mean, in a game of chess, the Queen is the important player who protects the King.

So it would be interesting if Whitley’s summon takes inspiration from the Queen chess piece. I’m not saying make it a straight up female version to Weiss’ Armoured Gigas; y’know the ole Angemon and Angewoman treatment (although that actually wouldn’t be too bad of an idea given Whit and Weiss’ relation and similar yet opposite circumstances). 

But a summon that emulates the same sense of strength as you rightfully said.

As a matter of fact, the idea I had in mind was that Whitley’s signature summon could possibly be some kind of Fairy/Elf type of Grimm. I’ve been told that Whitley’s character was inspired by Artemis Fowl. While I honestly don’t know much about this character (I’ve only read like a few chapters of the first book in the series), what I do recall is Artemis having a partner who was an elf fairy named Holly Short.

This makes me love the reference you used from Air Gear as an idea for Whitley’s summon. This character could easily pass for a fairy type of character with the Queen’s Chess piece motif which I think is the perfect kind of summon for Whitley Schnee.

But these are only my thoughts. I hope this answers your question Ez. Again, thanks for picking my brain with this. I really dig this idea a lot. This puts me even more on-board with the idea of Whitley awakening his trademark Schnee semblance.

If I’m being completely honest, I would be very disappointed if the CRWBY Writers did nothing to really flesh out Whitley’s story and character especially his ties to his sisters. Why I believe the likelihood of Whit awakening his family heritage is more prominent is due to the emphasis alluded to it by V4.

Why have Whit say that Weiss and Winter’s abilities---a power that is shared by pretty much everyone in his family---a power that he too might possibly possess---is beneath him if that small titbit wasn’t going to amount to something important. Why emphasis that Whit is supposed to be more like his father if it wasn’t going to potentially lead into Whit being exactly like his sisters---the two were broken free of the patriarchal prison. Why do that at all if it wasn’t going to slowly build up to Whit becoming the person he was meant to be. The Schnee he was meant to be.

I’m also curious to know how Jacques would feel if he discovered that Whit had powers. Would he turn away from the last heir under his control or…being the Machiavellian, greedy man that he is, what if… Whit unlocking his family power encourages an open opportunity for Jacques to use him even more like a pawn in his selfish schemes.

Picture…Jacques exploiting the Schnee family semblance through Whitley to carry out the nefarious crimes of the SDC. Apart from the Faunus abuse, imagine… Jacques making Whit use his Glyphs and summon to terrorize and take out competitors. That could be an interesting twist.

Imagine…Weiss investigating her family affairs only to discover someone with the same kind of powers as her and realize that it’s actuallyWhitley doing it on behalf of their father.

Imagine…the hypocrisy of Whitley implying that the Schnee family power is barbaric when used to serve humanity yet he abuses his power to commit heinous crimes that harms the people for the will of Jacques. That could be another intriguing twist and great subplot for both Schnee Siblings.

But again, like I said, these are only my ideas. We’ll have to wait and see what the CRWBY has in store for Whit in V7.

For what it’s worth, I pray it’s at least satisfactory and gives a much needed and hopefully better conclusion to Whitley’s story than what was done for certain other characters from a certain previous season. Y’know something to make us Whits feel happy as opposed to the latter.

Seriously if Whit’s story ends up being another poorly executed and mishandled subplot in the main plot then…I don’t  know what I would say. I’m doing my best to remain as positive and optimistic as I can be when it comes to the current writing in RWBY. 

While I still wish to stand with the side that believes that Miles and Kerry are talented, competent writers who know how to tell a good story; at the same time, I can’t deny the mistakes (both the ones pointed out by members of the FNDM and acknowledged by myself) made particularly in this last season as it’s still very fresh in my mind.

This makes me miss RWBY Chibi. Usually Chibi is the buffer to cipher off any distaste in the FNDM left behind by the last season while getting us pumped for the next one. But there seems to be no Chibi this year. At least as far as I’m aware of.

If I’m being honest with myself here, I am more nervous for the development of  my favourite characters going forward in the narrative than genuinely excited. Fans thought V6 would’ve fixed the issues created in V5 but by trying to correct the damage from the previous season, V6 introduced its own fair share of problems that can either be addressed or ignored in V7.

For now, I can only hope that this new arc will provide a chance for the Writers to reflect on the treatment of this last arc trilogy in preparation for a much better constructed and exciting new arc trilogy. As the saying goes, third time’s the charm so here’s to the Atlas Trilogy being a success kicking off with V7. We shall see.

In the meantime, that’s all I have to say on that for now, fam. 

I’ll start with you Yellow: if you make your idea into a fanfic then I’d love to read it. Most definitely. I can actually combine both of yours and Miki’s headcanons. Both of them together with my original small headcanon forms the premise for a really sweet Broken Machines/ Beta Testers story.

I love the idea of Whitley being introduced the original Penny through General Ironwood prior to the main canon plot; initially believe her to be a real person at first; not knowing that she was a robot and the two hitting it off as friends despite only meeting that one time before Penny left for Vale. Then after the broadcast of the Vytal Festival, Whitley learns the truth.

Do you know what could be interesting? Remember Whitley’s comment to Weiss in V4 about his opinion of the huntsmen being ‘barbaric’. 

Imagine an alternate universe where Whitley’s reasoning behind that term is because he, like many people of Atlas tuned in for the broadcast of the Vytal Festival where he observed Penny’s progress in the tournament up until the point she was revealed to be a machine and torn to shreds before the public eye.

Imagine a universe where Whitley was traumatized by Penny’s decapitation and that’s why he finds the huntsmen lifestyle to be beneath him apart from his justification about him and his father. I still wish to stand by my Whit-ty headcanon where I think Whitley has powers just like his sisters.

I absolutely refuse to let go of this Whitley theory. I’m sticking to my guns on Whitley being as much of a Schnee as Weiss and Winter and thus will unlock his family semblance in time. Bonus if Whitley unlocks his family power to actually save or protect one of his sisters (Weiss) or someone he grew to consider a close friend worth protecting (like Oscar). 

An experience after which, Weiss will agree to train Whitley on how to control his newfound abilities the same way Winter taught her; bringing their relationship almost full circle.

I’m pulling for this theory just as much as my headcanon about Whitley attending Atlas Academy as a means of understanding his sisters’ pursuit of the huntsmen lifestyle. I love the idea of Whitley reuniting with Weiss while she’s continuing her training at Atlas Academy.

The ideaI had in mind is that after Jacques learnt of Weiss’ return to the kingdom and her attendance of Atlas Academy, he personally had Whitley enrolled in the school as a means of using him to woo his sister back to their side or sabotaging it.

By my headcanons, Whitley is the huntsman in Weiss’ Snow White story. In the original fairy-tale, the Evil Queen used the huntsman to kill Snow White but the huntsman spared Snow White after she pleaded for her life.

I think the role of the Whitley being Weiss’ huntsman is very fitting because it plays on Whitley’s caring and sympathetic nature towards his older sister while tying into his loyalty and obedience of their father. I love the idea of Whitley being sent to Atlas to spy on his sister for Jacques but the reality is that Whitley also had his own agenda for going to Atlas. One was because he wanted to learn for himself what the big deal about being a huntsman was all about out of his own curiosity and secondly he wanted to use the opportunity to possibly develop the kind of close relationship and trust he’s always desired with his sisters. Particularly Weiss.

I am an advocate for Whitley being the Nebula to Weiss’ Gamora. My impression is that Whit has always wanted to have that closeness with his sister but due to their father and Weiss’ misunderstandings of her brother’s intentions, Weiss and Whit had a strained relationship from the start. 

My theory is that as a child, Whit would always try to get close to Weiss since he admired her dearly and desired to share a close friendship with her as Weiss had with Winter. However, Whit’s actions toward his sisters usually resulted in more trouble than good leading to huge misunderstandings. Because of this, Weiss was left with the impression that Whitley’s advancements and extensions of kindness were meant as a sign of him manipulating her when in reality, he just wanted to be close with his sister.

Similar to Gamora and Nebula, Weiss is the one who always believed that Whitley just wanted to manipulate and control her like their father when all Whitley wanted---what he truly wanted was a sister. 

Whitley: I don’t need you always seeing my actions as trying to manipulate you!

Weiss: Oh really? I’m not the one who once said being a huntsman is beneath him yet magically shows up at the same huntsman Academy I just happen to be at. Your little playing huntsman charade might be fooling my friends but you’re not fooling me. Not again! You’re just here because father put you up to it. He sent you to toy with me.

Whitley: Stop acting like everything I do is for father.

Weiss: But isn’t that what you once said? It’s foolish to not do what father wants. Weren’t those your exact words?

Whitley: Yes but that was before ---

Weiss: Before WHAT? You miraculously had a change of heart? Save it! You know you were always father’s favourite. His perfect little puppet. 

Whitley: No I’m NOT! Do not tell me what my intentions are. You don’t know me at all!

Weiss: I know exactly the kind of person you are, Whitley. You’re just as sneaky and manipulative and controlling as father. You’re just like him!

Whitley: WRONG!  That’s how YOU see me! But that’s NOT WHO I AM! You’re the one who’s always seen me as being father’s pawn. You’re the one who thinks I’m just like him.  You’re the one who thinks I want to manipulate you like father but do you actually know what I want! What I really want? I JUST WANT MY SISTER!  

All Whitley desires is to have a close bond with his sisters and if that ain’t his endgame then this squiggle meister will be incredibly disappointed.

I want to talk so much more about Whitley being a student of Atlas and his desire to develop an actual relationship with Weiss but this isn’t the headcanon  post for this. Regarding Broken Machines/ Beta Testers, this ties into Miki’s theory now about Jacques noticing Whitley interest in the Penny series sold to the public and thus he buys him  his own personal model.

But in reality, Whit can’t stop thinking about the original Penny he met. The one he saw as his one and only. The true Penny he had befriended, even though it was brief. The Penny he saw for being just a girl and not a machine.

This makes me even think about…what if…Whitley buys original Penny? Or tries to. I once shared a Pinehead headcanon post about the Atlas Council ordering the Military to mass produce Penny’s design before discarding her original model to the trash dumps down in Mantle.

I love your idea Yellow of Whitley spending his weekends visiting the facility where Penny is being housed to be used into mass production of the PNNY series.

Oh! Oh! What if…after the heroes befriend Whitley, he’s the one that helps Ruby and Oscar find the original Penny? What if it’s some kind of secret adventure with the trio where Whitley informs Ruby where original Penny is being housed and Whitley helps her and Oscar get into the base where they were housing Penny only to learn that they had already discarded her to Mantle.

Then again with Whitley’s help, Ruby and Oscar travel down to Mantle to retrieve Penny’s original model from the scrap junkyards below in Mantle---the same scrap heap home to my Grimm Monstro headcanon. I am still in love with the idea of there being a giant monstrous land whale type Grimm swimming through piles of junk to prey on unsuspecting visitors and scrap who happen to fall into its domain. Imagine Whitley going out of his way to help Ruby and Oscar rescue Penny and he even assists is her reconstruction.

I’m still holding onto my Pinehead headcanon of Oscar revealing that he has a hidden talent for engineering that he inherited from all the way back to his days on the farm which inspires him to become an inventing student under Dr. Polendina who doubles as a professor at Atlas Academy. I am still holding onto my theory about Oscar being the primary person to aid Ruby in repairing and restoring original Penny. And now for the Beta Testers, I’ll add Whitley to this theory too with our Schnee boy taking a personal investment in this venture because he wants to reunite with Penny again.

I mean, just imagine if Penny was someone Whitley considered his first true friend. The one person to meet him who didn’t know who he was or didn’t care that he was a Schnee. Imagine Penny and Whitley meeting that one time but still leaving that one lasting impression on each other. And when Penny is restored, to Whitley’s surprise, she remembers him. 

Even after all that she’s been through, original Penny still remembered Whitley after all she promised him that she’d meet again when she returns to Atlas which puts a genuine smile on Whitley’s face. Maybe even makes him cry a little or shed on gangster tear he tries to hide.

How’s that for an idea ey?
