You’re not far off! MC was 19 when the story started, though I don’t know if you realize how much time the story has already taken you through, aha. They spent one year in Leaf End, one year with the White Fangs, 2+ years during the war, and there will be another 1-year timeskip until the resurrection.

For the main portion of the story, the cast is aged:

MC: 24

Ilya: 24

Leon: 25

Saine: 20

Eli: 27

F: 20

Yu: 25

Leon would have a straight-up meltdown trying to tell the love of his life that he had them executed...but he would do it, even if he had the power to keep that secret under wraps. He’d think that it would only be fair, and he’d want MC’s genuine forgiveness before they build a new friendship/relationship.

Given the chance, Ilya would rather MC not recall the events leading up to their death, though she would grieve in secret that MC doesn’t recall her or their time together. She would patiently try to build a new relationship, and she’d have faith that it can work out even without the benefit of prior history, because she and MC fundamentally love each other.

Eli is a no-go for the romance scenario, since at the time of their parting MC was a minor and Eli wasn’t. But much like Ilya, they’d rather have MC forget the trauma of their childhood and what they went through in Eli’s absence; if the price is that they have to start over from strangers, so be it.

1. They don’t share a living space per se, since the Keep is big enough that Saine and Leon can be housed in separate wings and never have to meet one another unless they choose to. Moreover, Saine takes up the mantle of an ambassador (to Yotai) after MC’s execution, which means he’s out of Sienan more often than not.

2. He tried his best to explain that he’d be willing to forgive MC and free them if they had just told him what was going on. That even if MC was guilty, he’d free them as long as he could be sure they weren’t going to harm Param anymore. He did hope that Ilya and Saine would come around eventually, but ultimately he would even sacrifice his relationship with them if it meant prioritizing Param’s safety. It’s a mentality he swore to inherit after Julius passed--Param above all, even (potentially) the love of his life.

Leon would be absolutely destroyed with guilt, especially if MC had a high relationship value with him/romanced him. He’d be constantly tormented with what could have been, and what he lost; but he would respect MC’s space, and do whatever he thinks is best to help MC heal. He would jump with joy if MC eventually opened the door to reconnect.

As for Saine and Ilya, well. Pretty big spoilers about the next demo under the cut. (Though the Saine spoiler has already been shown in the devlog)

Not spoilery at all, since it’s already happened (albeit offscreen)! I’m assuming you saw the spiritism variant of the scene, as that’s the one that had MC and the WF separate.

WF actually saw them as they go down, with Saine blinking next to the bandit and cutting him down before he can deal a second blow. Varying degrees of panic and crying then ensues, especially if it was the head wound, which looked like it could be fatal. Ilya worked quickly, though, and MC was out of the danger zone before the day is out.

My headcanon (which I guess is canon? just not info you’d find in-game) is that this is where Leon began realizing his feelings for the MC, because he has a soft spot for noble/altruistic people, and nothing checks that box better than getting injured to rescue kidnapped children.

If you had taken the ‘call for backup’ route, Leon instead begins falling for the MC during their night scene in the inn, which is mutually exclusive with MC getting wounded.
