Do you have any advice on how to deal with readers who want you to up the pace of your fic? I'm a very detailed writer (think Hardy's descriptions of pastoral life), so each phase of my fic has a lot of long, detailed, dialogue-driven scenes. Writing like this brings me so much joy, but my readers want me to 'get to the point'. But this is the way I write, and I'm not sure I can change it. Or even want to change it. So now I'm stressed, and can't write anything at all. I don't know what to do.
If some random person on the internet ever had the incredibly bad manners to tell me to "get to the point" in one of my stories - or for that matter try to tell me how to write my fic when I didn't ask - they would get an absolutely scathing reply from me that would include the words "write it yourself if you want it written differently" and at least one link to a post on why rude comments on stories they are getting for free that someone else is writing for fun is so rude.
If you are writing in a way that brings you joy, then keep writing like that. You can reply to the comments if you want, or you can just delete them. You can even block people now! Do not worry about changing your writing - if they're there to read your writing, then they can be there to read YOUR writing. And your writing has a lot of long, detailed, dialogue-driven scenes, that is your style, and people who like that will find you and love you for it. If some people don't like it, they can go someplace else or do it themselves. You're allowed to have fun doing something you enjoy.
