I went with a modern AU because apparently I was just really craving ugly holiday sweaters and Fëanorians as a mafia family, hope this is ok for you!

YEAH they were everywhere ! Up in Spencer Idaho, near the west Yellowstone gate, there’s a mine there that dumps rocks into a pile near a cafe. The owners of the property there let you dig around for opals (for a fee of 15 bucks a pound but its worth it lol)

i need to go out west again some time to find shiny rocks. the east everything is covered by trees and poison ivy

first thing that came to my mind is the rap-battle between Finrod and Sauron. xD don't know if that counts as rivalry tho..
