failure: kethry's biggest failure is a little difficult, as i like to give her a lot of little ones to make up for the fact that the wol doesnt lose too often lol. but i think it's giving up autonomy to the powers that be in stormblood and becoming the weapon they needed/wanted at her own expense. she can't handle being required to kill that many people and takes it out on them a bit. she became extremely violent, to the point where when she encountered ANOTHER lord who needed her in shadowbringers, she attacked the foundations of the crystarium in a wild bid to assert herself

ohohohoho mae. mae's biggest failure is devoting herself to shoring up her best friend's (valeri) faltering belief (in the divinity of the sun, which is required of them). valeri ends up with an ironbound faith in mae herself instead, which is strong enough that she is taken as a candidate to get cyborg'd into one of the mechanical angels that maintain the station. (angels need a core faith/conviction to keep their robotic body functioning, and being one of them sucks so so so bad.) so valeri gets put into the torment nexus and its all mae's fault :)

mask: tied in with above, by late stormblood kethry cant bear to be herself anymore and stays in her armor, helmet included, as often as she can. not too far into shb, the exarch notices that she doesnt even have street clothes. (maybe she has to go to the tailor and get some with alisaie...?)
