World Humanitarian Day (WHD) is held every year on 19 August to pay tribute to aid workers who risk their lives in humanitarian service, and to rally support for people affected by crises around the world. The 2019 theme for the World Humanitarian Day campaign is #WomenHumanitarians. Women make up a large number of those who risk their own lives to save others. They are often the first to respond and the last to leave. These women deserve to be celebrated. They are needed today as much as ever to strengthen the global humanitarian response. And world leaders, as well as non-state actors, must ensure that they – and all humanitarians – are guaranteed the protection afforded to them under international law. Women humanitarians dedicate their lives to helping people affected by crises. We believe our world is a better place when compassion can travel where it is needed most. As a non-profit organisation that provides multi-sectoral interventions for the empowerment and enligthenment of girls and women., we devote ourselves to serving those who serve the world especially Women and girls.
