I'm so mad actually I can't believe some people took this scene in chapter 3 and turned it into a who's right about their grief when the scene in chapter 4 literally has ivypool saying I don't mean to make it all about me- haven't thought much about how dovewing is handling her own grief- people read chapter 3 and to me it seems as if chapter 4 doesn't even exist and the rest of what ivypool says in chapter three after saying this doesn't as well

The vessel is only visible via reflections, most commonly thru mirrors

the vessel can be seen by Abaddon through other reflective surfaces (windows, puddles, ect.) but those take a little bit more work to appear in so he usually sticks to mirrors or speaking through Abaddon’s mind

this is also visable to other people, but at first glance it looks like nothing much has changed so nobody in the hotel has commented on this, and even if they caught Abaddon talking to it, they’d just assume its one of his demon things again

this one is kind of connected to the previous hc, but the vessel is terrified of being separated from Abaddon if they were to ever be “un-bounded” because then the body of the boy would instantly decay due to how long its been alive for, only being held up by Abaddon himself in a way

because of this, there are some cases in which when the vessel is reflecting in anything other than a mirror, it will show a glimpse of what the actual body (corpse) looks like at the moment and it is not coolio toolio

also why the vessel didnt like the cult at first

similar to the theory where Abaddon and The Vessel’s souls merged, Abaddon inherited the boy’s “kindness” in some wacky messed up way so in similar fashion, the Vessel inherited Abaddon’s evilness

in simpler terms because i didnt want to give too many examples, the vessel becomes a little shit

while abaddon usually does not listen to what most humans talk about in favor for something like a blender or bug, the vessel is constantly listening to the Freelings and picking up common phrases, resulting in the extensive use of brainrot terms being repeated daily

this is mostly due to esther, in abaddon’s mind personally

when they were bonded, they both HATED each other because the Vessel wouldn’t stop crying in Abaddon’s head and Abaddon killed the boys father and made him immortal :angry:

the vessel also hated when abaddon would do insane things to the body, having not adjusted to the idea of “immortality” yet. so whenever abaddon would puncture the body, sit underwater for long periods, eat animals while they were still alive, rip off a prophets head, the vessel would cry because hes a child what do you expect.

eventually he got used to it (unfortunately or fortunately, that is uncertain)

on the bright side, this did introduce the boy to many winders he could not have seen in his village like huge spiders, reptiles of many varieties, whatver abaddon may be doing in that moment

sometimes both abaddon’s and the vessel’s voices will sync vocally when they share a strong emotion

an example being when Abaddon screamed in Katherine’s car and you could faintly hear a child’s scream, im using this because both Abaddon and the Vessel hated being in that car; the car seat made Abaddon feel foolish and the seatbelt felt like the ropes on #thatday to the boy

Both of them are terrified of seeing the priest again (because i know for a fact that dude is a ghost somewhere in this hotel) but i dont know why personally they both just dont want to

the vessel will laugh at abaddon whenever he gets put in the salt time out

the vessel keeps coming up with other places to sleep other than under a freaking kitchen cabinet but abaddon dgaf and keeps ruining the back

they both like nathan but the vessel is the one that is constantly calling him “father” as opposed to abaddon’s “patriarch”

the vessel has no idea what his name is anymore, having not heard it for centuries and Abaddon calling him “vessel, child, boy,” ect.
