I think it depends on the meaning you give to postmodernism. Everyone uses their own categories so depending on what you mean with it, it can be over or not already :)

Ooh! Hi! And yeah, I think I’ve read at least some joking tags comparing her to Frodo for the ring (I can’t recall where at the moment…).

I don’t know if that’s a fully accurate assessment of it, though? I don’t think she’s even begun to process what John became after her death, or that it weighs on her in that way.

She’s deeply in mourning, but I saw her moving the ring from her finger to a chain around her neck as a positive sign of her trying to come to terms with how much the world’s changed in 33 years. Her husband’s been dead for more than 10 years in this new reality she’s found herself in. Wearing the ring on her finger may be too shockingly painful in the wake of learning about his death, you know? Moving it to a chain around her neck, because he’s not coming back (at least as far as she knows, because hey, SHE came back…) is her way of holding on to her past while also trying to accept her present. She doesn’t have to get rid of her past entirely, or hide the ring in a drawer, but the fact she took it off her finger I took as a positive sign of her doing her best to come to grips with her reality as it now stands.

I get what metaphor they were going for with the borders and 'immigrants', it's great, but not all monsters make leisure trips to the GB, some of them just live there. Sorry, it's just me nitpicking.
