really interested in the way the master-apprentice relationship (and by extension the apprentice-apprentice under same master relationship) is genuinely codified as significant enough to be on par with familial relationships in the witch hat atelier world. like they quite literally are legally speaking, as shown by how simply artificially manufacturing the master-apprentice relationship is used as a work-around later in the manga to ensure a gay couple is able to stay together as a unit instead of being forcefully separated. and even beyond that idk it’s just kinda fascinating to me that by and large in witch society they straight up practice this pretty unique form of communal(?) child rearing while the rest of the outside world doesn’t at all. i want to Know more abt the inner workings of it all

#x #i was gonna say it’s pretty cool but tbf the system has also been shown to still have its flaws considering how many of the character #we’re introduced to have been abused/treated poorly by their birth families or masters or both so.#but IDK like those are Real relationships that mean something to the people in their world. when hiehart talks to olruggio n hes #like we’re not even fellow ‘brother’ apprentices under the same master or anything #and again when that knight guy. i forgot his name. isn’t allowed to stay w his partner bc he has to be ‘released’ to either his Family(TM)#or his master or his apprentice. wild!!!!#in a way qifrey is kinda right when he admits his initial reason for why he begun taking on apprentices is kinda selfish bc once he does #that he’s literally become on par with these girl’s family for the rest of his life. olruggio himself says he doesn’t have any bc he doesn’#know if he has what it takes to be kids legal. guardian teacher carer brother etc etc etc #it’s just neat to me. i like non traditional forms of family n i especially like when they’re literally systematically enforced in a world #n what good things but also what problems might arise from them #wha posting
