I love your writing so much and I just wanted to thank you for sharing the beautiful stories you create with us, I honestly don't know what would I do for the past half a year if I didn't have your fics to come back to after work š.
I finished WFRAU a while back and loved it The theme of memory loss hit me very hard and that fic just made me hurt in a way no other fic or book did I think? I'm so fascinated by how you're able to make the readers feel SO MUCH with your words!
I wanted to ask something, that I've been wondering. When you're writing something so sad, how do you not break your own heart with your own stories? Is it different because you're the one writing it and can detach yourself from it more? Or does it not affect you as much? I can hardly give sad endings to my OCs and maybe I'm just really weak lol
Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm just curious how it feels from your pov as the writer!

& to answer ur question i donāt think itās āweakā to not want to write heavy stuff, thereās definitely things that i wouldnāt want to write about because it would feel too intense. i think everyone is just different in the ways that they relate to stories & writing and for me regardless of how ārealā a character feels writing is always just thatāitās a story, and my characters arenāt people, theyāre characters. one purpose of writing for me is often to explore intense themes & stories in a way thatās āsafeā in the sense that the events taking place are not happening/havenāt happened to real people.
& on that note my goal often is to break my own heart with my stories! i love tragedy and the stories that have most deeply impacted me have almost all been tragedies in some sense. i wouldnāt say that iām detached or unaffected bc being affected is the point; i want to feel despair. many people donāt want that & thatās perfectly fine. but to me negative & painful emotions arenāt something i want to avoid in stories but rather something that i find intellectually productive, emotionally cathartic, and enjoyable in their own way. i also think stories can provide an incredibly poignant avenue to explore some of lifeās most harrowing experiences & attempt to make sense of them.
