Was thinking of dialogue between CT and Oghren and... oof, CT really, really hates his dad.
I'm not sure what he hates more, Oghren abandoning him and Felsi when he was young because he was a drunk and a Warden, or the fact his mother constantly compared him to his father when she was disappointed in him. Her last words before he went off to join the Wardens was that he was just like his father and he was going to wind up the same way. So... yeah. being compared to your father in your worst moments, combined with Oghren's personality and the fact he left means that he absolutely hates the man.
And to be fair, Oghren probably doesn't hold much esteem for him either. He doesn't get the trans thing, but that's nothing compared to... archery. That's the real shame in his eyes. Why couldn't CT learn how to use a fucking axe like a proper dwarf? He's flitting around in light armor like some kind of pansy. It's even worse that he's an artist of all things. Not even for crafting, he just DRAWS. And PAINTS. What the hell...
(Simple: because you use one, Oghren. He would've rather died than become a two hander. And the actual good influences in his life taught him how to use a bow. Maybe if you had stuck around, it would've worked out better. But you didn't, so your son is one of the best Grey Warden archers they have.)
I'd say they could sit down with a drink and discuss it... but one is never enough for Oghren and that's the last thing CT would want to do anyway. The only thing he looks forward to is escorting him to the Deep Roads for his Calling and sticking around to watch the darkspawn eat him. He'll bring his sketchbook so he can remember it fondly. Maybe he'll even do a painting about it after - The Drunk's Last Stand. Can't wait.
Someone in the dragon age survey said about Oghren "He respects Tranquil mages when even other mages don’t because he may not understand what Tranquility means but he damn well knows that they’re people." and im like oghren fan i need you to show me that. God Oghren has such good moments in the circle tower but it's so hard to do orzammar first and them bring him to places. I mostly just saw these in youtube.

I love Oghren for what he could have been and to a degree what he is. His lore makes him so layered and I love that for him.
That said, as I make my way through God of War I am progressively staring at Brok and every time thinking of Oghren.
The foul mouthed, antagonistic, abrasive, and a bit too deep in his defensive mechanisms dwarf. Still with the drinking problem, still with a strained family relationship... So many parallels. All Brok is missing is the fact he wasn't a child bride. (As far as I'm aware.)
Oghren in base game dao had good character bones but leaned too heavily into a bit that overshadowed the rest of his character elements. Written lore Oghren, how I love your terrible story.
