(discombobulated thoughts and spoilers)

I'm not sure what he hates more, Oghren abandoning him and Felsi when he was young because he was a drunk and a Warden, or the fact his mother constantly compared him to his father when she was disappointed in him. Her last words before he went off to join the Wardens was that he was just like his father and he was going to wind up the same way. So... yeah. being compared to your father in your worst moments, combined with Oghren's personality and the fact he left means that he absolutely hates the man.

And to be fair, Oghren probably doesn't hold much esteem for him either. He doesn't get the trans thing, but that's nothing compared to... archery. That's the real shame in his eyes. Why couldn't CT learn how to use a fucking axe like a proper dwarf? He's flitting around in light armor like some kind of pansy. It's even worse that he's an artist of all things. Not even for crafting, he just DRAWS. And PAINTS. What the hell...

(Simple: because you use one, Oghren. He would've rather died than become a two hander. And the actual good influences in his life taught him how to use a bow. Maybe if you had stuck around, it would've worked out better. But you didn't, so your son is one of the best Grey Warden archers they have.)

That said, as I make my way through God of War I am progressively staring at Brok and every time thinking of Oghren.

The foul mouthed, antagonistic, abrasive, and a bit too deep in his defensive mechanisms dwarf. Still with the drinking problem, still with a strained family relationship... So many parallels. All Brok is missing is the fact he wasn't a child bride. (As far as I'm aware.)
