Mari stood in front of the camera while the others were behind it. Dressed as The Joker in a too-big suit and crappy makeup that Joven did in the car over, she looked a little dead inside. Nonetheless, the wide painted-on smile on her face was for a video, which brought her to one of the biggest conventions in the world, so she had a bit of pep in her voice when she said, “What’s up, guys! So we’re here in San Diego at Comic-Con, and we decided to come in cosplay! This was Matt Raub’s idea-”

“@MattRaub.” Flitz calls from behind the camera.

“And we’re going to go around and have actual cosplayers judge our looks! We have Wes as Poison Ivy, Joven as Supergirl, Flitz as Chun Li, Damien as Wonder Woman, Boze as Batman, and I, myself, am,” she let herself slip into her Peter Akimoto voice, “THE JOKER! So let’s go!”

Walking around, sarcastic comments like, “Damn,” and “That must have taken a lot of time,” and, the ever-dreaded, “Terrible.” Were aimed at the Smosh Gamers, so let’s just say Matt Raub was pretty happy with the content they obtained that day.

“So, what’s your name?” Matt asked the girl dressed in an intricate Poison Ivy outfit, facing Wes’s goooooregous cosplay. 

“I’m (Y/N)- I mean, uh, Poison Ivy!” You flipped your long red wig over one shoulder, making the crew behind the camera cheer jokingly.

“Well then, (Y/N), what do you think of Wes’s cosplay here? We spent sooo much time and effort making sure each leaf was placed properly.” That comment made you giggle, and you put your hands on your hips, surveying the cosplay in front of you.

The cute guy in front of you doing a “sexy” pose wasn’t helping you keep your straight face, either.

“Well… I mean… It’s creative? I guess? What era of her look were you going for?”

“Well,” he tried his best to do a Poison Ivy voice. “We were thinking a combination of the original merchandise and the new Ivy.”

You grinned. “I mean-”

“Wes is just saying words, he doesn’t know any ‘eras’ of Poison Ivy.” Joven yelled out. 

Wes crossed his arms and pouted. “I do too!”

You laughed. “E for Effort.”

Wes held a hand over his heart. “Well, thank you, dah-ling.” He pulled you in for a hug, you said goodbye to the camera, and you started walking away.

“Hey, hold on, guys. I think I left one of my gloves back there.” Wes said.

“What do you mean, you ‘think’? It’s either you lost one, or you didn’t.” Joven laughed. 

Wes rolled his eyes. “I know I left one of my gloves back there. I’ll be right back.” They all agreed, and Wes practically ran back to where he spotted your red wig last. 

Looking around, he didn’t see you. He picked up his glove that he has (purposely) left on the ground, and started to turn back.

“Hey! I was lookin’ for you. Wes, right?” He looked up and met your contact-clad eyes.

He smiled. “Ah, yeah, that’s me. I was kinda looking for you, too, (Y/N).” You smiled at the fact that he remembered your name. “Sorry about, you know, all the craziness with them.”

You laughed. “That’s fine. I love big families, and I can tell that you guys are all like a big family.” He smiled a bit wider.

“Yeah, I guess we are.”

You guys stood there for a few moments, an awkward silence settling itself over the two of you.

“So…” You started.

“So… listen, I came back here for a reason. I was wondering if maybe you’d want to get some coffee sometime?”

You grinned and looked down at your feet, clicking your heels together lightly. “I’d love to. Here.” You dug your phone out of your bag and handed it to him, having him put in his number.” 

“Great! We’ll work out the details later, but is next weekend good?”

You nodded. “Next weekend is great.”

“Great.” Another awkward pause.

“Well, it was great meeting you, and I guess I’ll see you later, but I have to run.” “Awe, okay. Whelp, I’ll see you later, (Y/N).”

“See ya, Wes.”
